Is there such a thing as proper cotton knickers that pull you in abit?

Honestly I was fooled into those big bamboo knickers that everyone on instagram raves about. Lovely patterns terrible product. All hot and sweaty and no control at all even though they go to your belly button. M and S are good but not the material for this weather. The chemo is just so sweaty. Any ideas?

on a similar subject any nice practical bra top things with no clasps for a 36H and not thick sweaty things. I’m going to a festival soon so I’m all about ease of getting on and off.

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle oh no! That’s really disappointing, they’re usually really good with customer service.

Another vote for thunderpants. God I love them.

notbelieved · 10/08/2024 12:59

Wirapa on Amazon. I previously used Sloggi but the cost made me look around. Saw wirapa mentioned on here and gave them a try - definitely as good as Sloggi, way cheaper.

StuckOnTheCeiling · 10/08/2024 13:02

Im a fan of the wirapa ones too. Not shapewear but fairly thick cotton so give a bit of hold and shape. They do have a bit of a tight waistband, took me a couple of wears to get used to it compared to M&S flimsy full briefs.

£80 for four pairs of knickers from underpants I really can’t justify that.

Bonmarche do a good copy here - https://www.bonmarche.co.uk/multipack-knickers/3-pack-control-briefs-159931.html?dwvar1599311_color=93&cgid=

I've been wearing the Sloggi control tai briefs for about 10 years, they last very well but have slowly crept up in price, I found the Bonmarche copies and gave them a go, I would advise to size up.

I bought half a dozen pairs of Sloggis when I was expecting my last child as I had pelvic girdle pain and needed something supportive. They are all still going strong. He’s 15 in a few weeks time….

Similar problem, get very sweaty due to a mobility impairment. Have a belly. Love these from Sloggi. They also have a maxi control style which is cotton, I find those a bit uncomfortable, these hold me in a bit and are very comfy:

KirstenBlest · 10/08/2024 13:22

And the pain was worth it.
Isn't it lovely when you read posts like these. Katrinawaves, her knickers predate her son. Smile . The story behind the sloggis.

EarthSight · 10/08/2024 14:27

What percentage of bamboo was in them? That doesn't sound right to me at all. Bamboo or Rayon is one of the most breathable fabrics, more so than cotton.

Another wirarpa vote here. I wear the y front looking ones under PJ's and the cotton lined gusset boxers with 3 inch legs daytime. So comfortable after years of wearing thongs

I ordered knickers from CC in September 2023. They still haven't sent them and aren't answering e-mails now.

I had the same problem and no reply to emails. Imagine waiting 10 months for some knickers and bra tops. Absolutely shocking behaviour. So totally unacceptable. I was happy to support them but they have pissed me off so much. Never again.

I actually did manage to get through to costumer services by responding to a few of the many promotional emails they send out. Apparently I have been refunded now but I've not checked yet.

Just ordered a five pack of Wirarpa!

Thanks for the recommendations.

Mykittensmittens · 10/08/2024 16:13

Wirapa! So comfy, ever so slightly supportive and wash well.
you’ve reminded me to order another pack so I have enough for holidays as any others feel dissapointing now!

Thanks. I'll try that address rather than the generic one.

I like the multi pack 100% cotton knickers from Peacocks. The full brief is up to the belly button.
They are good quality for the price.
I also have the wirapa but they're too thick for summer.

I’ll avoid Wirspa then, if they are thick. I want ultra fine thin fabrics, not a bath towel. I tried Sloggi once, after recommendations 😕; l thought they had put bedsheets in the packet by mistake 😀.

Tickletuesday · 10/08/2024 19:27

TK Maxx have some full cotton pants by Laura Ashley. They are pretty and comfortable. Full pant means that there is no overspill so they make you look better without the tight control.

What4words · 10/08/2024 22:11

Try Boody - very comfy and breathable

Wearing a pair as I write 😅

I know - but they last for ages. I only have four pair.

Cantonet · 11/08/2024 12:53

I was coming on to recommend Boody but they're bamboo!
They do a range of shaper pants & shorts to get good reviews. I haven't tried the pants but I love the bras. They do a full bust bra that might be suitable for you.

MrsPositivity1 · 21/08/2024 18:33

Wirapa for me too. I love them. I go down a size
