Casual shoes with jeans

Help! I have been shopping for new shoes just to wear with (nice) jeans and a (stylish) t-shirt, do a lot of walking with pushchair and kids so they need to be comfy...

...SO, are we not allowed to wear socks anymore? They're all so open, I feel that boots won't last me all summer - so what do i do?!

Am I THAT unstylish that I'm more worried about socks? when did this happen?!

Can anyone find me some nice comfy shoes that don't shout "I'm a mother! Comfort first!"

Please help!

Me too ruby. I've stopped wearing short skirts and big boots but I won't give up my jeans and converse. I won't, I won't, I won't!

Legoleia · 15/04/2008 10:02

No worries about skinny jeans. I am not skinny. They look shocking on me

Can I wear popsocks?

AH campers, I used to love a boy with soft brown leather, side lacing-camper shoes!

Where does one go to browse, KITNW?

I have a 'hooded garment' on as well with my jeans (refuse to call them hoodies). Nothing on my feet as yet but when there is it'll be my tatty lovely old converse. I wear grown up clothes at work - that's more than enough. I'm wondering if perhaps i should start buying clothes from the middle-aged ladies shops that my mum used to love when I was a child. There was a label that she really liked and I can't remember it....

Bon Marche?

Eastex! That was it. Lovely

If you don't like the studded holes in horse way look at horse whisper (I think they are called that) they are the ones on the model and they are very nice on though odd looking in the hand. I admit: I have them. In white, and I think they are my only pair of white shoes. Normally white shoes make me gag.

camper shop

I live in my campers, soooo comfy. I wear them with anything and everything.

Mine are this sort of style but with just one strap across. They're not cheap but seem to last forever, and just to add that mine pinched a little bit when I first wore them but after not too long they're lovely and roomy and soft.

One of the high st shoe shops stock campers too, I think it's Jones the bootmakers?

Legoleia · 15/04/2008 10:24

Do you just wear them on your bare feet, KitNW?

KnitterInTheNW · 15/04/2008 10:27

I don't, but only cos they'll pong with my feet in the summer! Nice...

I wear thin socks with trousers or jeans, and opaque tights with dresses or skirts. I tend not to wear them in hot weather anyway, I'd rather have something more airy.

Just spent £65 quid at the Converse shop - they have some good offers on! I too have to dress smartly for work, so love jeans and trainers for every day. Have not had a pair of Converse since I was about 14, so I'm sooooo excited!! Next day delivery too!

wilbur · 15/04/2008 10:31

Another Converse fan here, although there are some nice all one colour sneakers about too, in slightly softer colours than converse. All look great with jeans.

I have my everday Converse and then I have sequinned Converse for when I have to do black tie. I am a very comfortable shoe kind of girl.

No19 · 15/04/2008 10:49

Puff's guitar teacher is on the money, I have Green Flash (if you mean the Dunlop shoes) and they are v. cool. They are a sturdier shoe than Converse & much more trainery but not in the usual vile trainer way.
