Hi everyone - my close friend turns 60 in a few weeks & I haven't got a clue what to buy her. Budget is £100-£150.

She's very glam & trendy. Into jewellery clothes, bags, beauty etc. Not perfume tho as she has gallons of it. Would prefer not a voucher as I want something she can unwrap on the day.

I need something I can get online as I don't live in the uk. Am hopelessly out of touch so would really appreciate some inspiration from you stylish, trendy mumsnetters! Thank you!

I am now trying to resist buying one of the Coach Nolita bags!

You could give her a beautiful photograph frame - and inside it, put an envelope containing a voucher for a session with a local photographer....

BetsyRegards · 22/07/2024 14:29

I would be lobbing both frame and voucher at the giver’s head, @Tryonemoretime!

I'd go for the Chanel or Guerlain make-up, with the receipt so that it could be exchanged if she didn't like it.

The pillowcases sound good - I already have some but more would be fine. I also have a Coach belt.
Earrings are better than other jewellery. Check that the recipient has pierced ears.

Flowers are not a gift. They accompany a gift.

Scented candle is a last resort. A diptyque one might be OK, but it will still be a sodding scented candle.

Haven’t read the whole thread but what about a Longchamp bag , lots of colours and infinitely useful. You go for a travel bag or an everyday one

Ortiga stuff is really lovely and looks expensive. I got a friend a candle recently but they've got lovely trinkets and things for the home

Concur about the 100 stars gown.

Feel lovely textually, feel glamorous, stylish and terribly grown up and sophisticated with a hint of subtle sexiness due to their fine. slight hint of transpagency (if you look hard ) and genrle waftiness as you walk.
I'm a small size 8 and they fit and drape superbly, would also fit larger bodies as there is a lot of extra wrap one gathering on me. It's l they are shorter the is ideal dose at 5dt 8 so hotter pepole will be OK. Is day at 5 ft 2 your probably have a bit above the ankles ( I'm away without mine currently do an weirding and don't be able to be kie accurate, sorry )
im now Consudering requesting more for birthday but getting them purchased in sale now. Quite fancy a collection of them. I seen to be collecting wafty sheer gowns currently. Considering getting some I can go out in- if any one sees some slight ly more apt for this please let me know.

Sadly not yet purchased other clothes- not trait a trousers girl do can't help.
Enjoy the robe. What colour até you thinking of being l getting$

I'm a size 8 - 10 and have a One Hundred Stars dressing gown. It drapes beautifully, and the material is very fine so it ties without any bulk around my waist. Makes me feel like the female lead in an Agatha Christie film!

And I'm an 18 and they are just a less drape-y fit on me! I do aspire to waft around in them, in a garden my flat doesn't actually have though, which is actually one my my current incentives to lose weight 🙈

I have two One Hundred Stars dressing gown's I love them, I'm an 8 ad 5ft tall, so it's very drapey on me, I feel so elegant in it.
