Scamp and Dude? How is the quality?

I really like Scamp and Dude’s clothes, but have never actually ended up buying anything.

I finally ordered a couple of summer dresses and have to say I’m pretty disappointed with quality.

Ok - so they have pockets, but the material feels very cheap and to be honest they don’t feel any better quality than Shein/Warehouse/Next.

I love the colours/design of the dresses, but at around £100 a pop, I’m a bit wary of splashing out.

if they were about £40/50 I wouldn’t hesitate, but feels like something I’d buy at supermarket.

anyone got experience of their stuff? Will I regret spending that much on a couple of casual summer dresses?

So I didn’t realise they had an outlet! Where are they? MacArthur Glen - is that Scotland?

does bicester have them?

No, not at Bicester. Currently in York outlet place

Awful, frumpy clothing! There are far nicer brands

Oh this thread has saved me some money I’d been considering buying one of their dresses! I like their prints, anyone got a recommendation of a brand with similar styles but better quality?

It’s tricky - I think Scamp & Dude are really distinctive.

Oliver Bonas have some lovely stuff which is slightly cheaper, but I find the quality varies from item to item. As much as I hate myself for being a London mum cliche, I buy a lot from there.

All saints? Less colourful but got that rock chick vibe.

the Kooples and Zadig and Voltaire and good in the sales. Pricey when not in sale.

None of them are that similar to Scamp and Dude, but I’d say those were the best places to source leopard print!

oh - Wolf & Badger worth a look. Can also be pricey. But stocks independent brands and plenty of dresses around the £100 mark

There’s always Zara!

I'm glad to see others agreeing on the disappointing quality, Facebook groups made me feel like I was imagining it! I like the patterns but I was expecting a really nice quality sweatshirt and it feels more like the quality I'd get from new look/ h&m.

Sugarhill Brighton have similar style prints, I've not tried any of their dresses but have jumpers that are holding up well.

Yes pop up! Think maybe Portsmouth.

I have bought from them but only at roughly half price. My first order I was happy with, the quality was OK for the price and I liked the design, print and fabric. The second order went back, the fabric was awful and the quality was terrible. Badly sewn, flimsy, nasty.

Shame because the prints are great

Moominbananas · 03/07/2024 22:40

I have a couple of dresses from them. Both were below £50, discounted in the sale.

Neither have pockets!

Foraging4sweet · 04/07/2024 18:45

Sugarhill Brighton is a cheaper and similar alternative. They do similar prints too

Partylots · 26/12/2024 14:33

old thread but I agree, the quality is terrible and their dresses are annoying to wash, need ironing and are a faff! I’ve bought two nearly new from Vinted. Had to give one to my mum to mend a couple of months ago. I’ll buy more cos they look nice on me but I’m keeping an eye on Vinted for no more that £30-£35. That’s all they’re worth imo.
