Scamp and Dude? How is the quality?

I really like Scamp and Dude’s clothes, but have never actually ended up buying anything.

I finally ordered a couple of summer dresses and have to say I’m pretty disappointed with quality.

Ok - so they have pockets, but the material feels very cheap and to be honest they don’t feel any better quality than Shein/Warehouse/Next.

I love the colours/design of the dresses, but at around £100 a pop, I’m a bit wary of splashing out.

if they were about £40/50 I wouldn’t hesitate, but feels like something I’d buy at supermarket.

anyone got experience of their stuff? Will I regret spending that much on a couple of casual summer dresses?

Scam & Dupe

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 02/07/2024 07:10

I've never had an issue with the quality but I never buy at full price. As you say around £50 seems the right price!

UglyNess · 02/07/2024 07:13

I've got a couple and they've both got holes in them after only a few wears, where the fabric has come away at a seam. I like the heaviness of the skirt and the pocket but I wouldn't buy again because of the tearing.

Chimchar · 02/07/2024 07:14

I bought a sweatshirt once because was influenced I loved the look of them. I sent it back when it arrived because it felt really cheap and not at all nice quality.

pintofsnakebite · 02/07/2024 07:17

I bought a dress on Vinted for £40.

I love the pattern and design of dress but agree, the material feels shoddy.

ThePoshUns · 02/07/2024 07:25

I had a sweatshirt from them a few years ago which was nice, also a dress in the sale which I shouldn't have kept as the neckline was too low.

NextFriYAY · 02/07/2024 07:29

I really like the sweatshirts - soft and wash very well. I’ve got a few that are around 3 years old.

Blanketison · 02/07/2024 07:35

i tried on some dresses in an outlet place and they were awful quality, I thought I maybe they’d been made for the outlet? They were very cheap, maybe £15-20? I have a couple of sweatshirts from there which I love, worn loads and the colours are still really bright.

fiddleleaffig · 02/07/2024 07:40

I have a couple of dresses and I do think they are very overpriced. One was bought on sale though and the other I just absolutely loved so paid full price for (no regrets - it absolutely sparks joy!).
They get away with it because they have a cult following. It's like Popsy for the six figure earners Wink

Foraging4sweet · 02/07/2024 07:40

Crap. I bought a jumper. It faded after about three washes and was really thin for the price. I love their designs but I was very unimpressed!

Tailfeather · 02/07/2024 07:50

I've bought a couple of things but ended up sending them back.

Fraa · 02/07/2024 17:29

I've got a few of their sweatshirts. The colour does fade a bit but I think overall they are good quality.

ApricitySeeker · 02/07/2024 22:40

I have a coat from there which I really like, feels very thick and good quality. I like the look of the dresses but I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for an unlined viscose dress. And from the sounds of it they aren’t well made.

EnglishBluebell · 03/07/2024 00:28

Why are all these fancy pretentious businesses named 'something AND something?!' It's getting really old now.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 03/07/2024 06:19

I have a nearly new dress from vinted for £20.New Look quality and it was being sold as both sleeves had come away from the seams which I mended.I wear it often as the colour is great but it is terrible quality and would never buy from them.

Lavendersquare · 03/07/2024 14:37

I love their bold prints, but agree that they feel overpriced.

Loads of Scamp & Dude for sake on Brandalley, £40 -£60 which as others have said feels like the right price.

TheKoalaWhoCould · 03/07/2024 14:42

The quality isn’t great and the sizing is worse unfortunately

User364837 · 03/07/2024 14:47

I don’t think they’re anything special
i wanted to exchange for another size as the sweatshirt I ordered was v stiff and had no give and came up small.
I had to pay to return and pay new postage for the replacement so it just wasn’t worth it, I returned, put the cost down to experience and never have ordered again.

User364837 · 03/07/2024 14:48

I think people have been sucked in and it’s a bit of a status thing for some. And they think because it’s expensive it must be good and worth having. It’s all a bit emperors new clothes.

Fudgetheparrot · 03/07/2024 14:51

I tried a couple of dresses but sent them back because the material felt so horrible

User364837 · 03/07/2024 14:54

Crikey who in their right mind would pay £115 for that?!

Scamp and Dude? How is the quality?

👊🏽
or not even fancy just basic unimaginative 🫣

Changemynameforumpteenthtime · 03/07/2024 18:03

so glad I’m not alone in this.
its such a shame. I really like the designs just so badly executed!

as others have said - I’ve seen similar quality in new look.

will definitely look at what’s on brand alley- would pay £50, but even then, I wouldn’t call it an amazing bargain!

I have that in teal and it's lovely BlushGrin but my sister picked it up for me at the outlet for £35. Would pay £60

Cheermonger · 03/07/2024 18:31

I bought one in the pop up at mcArthur Glen and it was £30. For that price I like it but agree at full price they aren’t a great buy.
