What should I do with my skinny jeans?

Got 2 good pairs, nothing wrong with either, white and blue, from Marks (Autograph and Magic). Feels like a waste to get rid of them, even to donate, but as well as being off trend, they feel so uncomfortable now that I am used to straight styles. The only scenario I can see them being worn is with wellies in winter but even then I would probably crave thermal leggins. What have you done with yours?

Why would it be wasteful to donate them if you know you won't wear them?
I still wear mine because I like them and am not fashionable! Blush

sarahc336 · 15/06/2024 22:27

I've kept a few pairs and surely they will come back into fashion 🤔

Yusd · 15/06/2024 22:39

It’s not wasteful to donate, no point holding onto something you will never wear as you find them uncomfortable. Donate them so they get a second life from people like me that still love skinnies 😂

Funkyfizz · 15/06/2024 22:43

I still wear mine. As do loads of other people I see out and about every day. So donate them. I'd buy them.

suki1964 · 16/06/2024 03:39

Short size 8? send them to me, Id wear them not a bother

Indeed Ive just peeled off the pair I had on today

Sorry I dont do fashion, ( although Im sure there was a edict saying Skinnies were back ) I wear what I like when I like

SnapdragonToadflax · 16/06/2024 05:24

I'm sure they'll be back in fashion soon, just keep them?

I wore mine yesterday to walk around in a rainy field all day. Very handy. Haven't worn them since last winter but they felt familiar and comfy.

Crushed23 · 16/06/2024 06:01

Totally agree that they feel really uncomfortable now. If I want that shape I just wear leggings.

Justleaveitblankthen · 16/06/2024 06:05

They are my Go-To in the rain with boots. They live nestled amongst my jeans of every style and description 😂

I love a good clear out though.
If I was you I would donate to charity (not the bags through your door, but a proper full-proceeds charity shop)

TheOGCCL · 16/06/2024 08:50

If uncomfortable you need to get rid as you won’t wear them again even if they are back in fashion.

dudsville · 16/06/2024 08:57

I've got a small selection of things I don't wear but that fit, are in great condition and I do love them, but that just aren't how I dress now. It's only 2 pairs. Could you store them?

Houseofdragonsisback · 16/06/2024 08:58

They are coming back in but if you didn’t like them, donate them.

Floisme · 16/06/2024 09:02

Space permitting, I try and keep clothes if they still fit and are in good condition. Nothing in fashion is new - I'm wearing some old, revived Levi flares today. But if they're uncomfortable then I'd donate.

Latenighttelly · 16/06/2024 09:22

I've still got mine, can't quite get rid of them although I'm not actually ever wearing them

LetsGoDoDoDo · 16/06/2024 09:36

I have four pairs stored for when they make their come back, although, I must say that I am enjoying the wider leg!

Bobbybobbins · 16/06/2024 14:13

I would keep them for the winter. I know my looser jeans will be useless in wet weather. I love thermal leggings too but skinnies might be good for a slightly smarter occasion.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/06/2024 14:16

They are handy for muddy days although I prefer a rolled up straight leg. Agree they are so uncomfortable though.

TootGoesTheOwl · 16/06/2024 20:32

I wear mine, daily. They are comfortable and suit my shape. They can peel them out of my cold, dead hands as far as I am concerned.

Roseyjane · 16/06/2024 20:34

I still wear mine, depending on where you look, the feeling is they are back or never went away. The shops never stopped selling them as the primary style.

but if you don’t like them or feel comfy, then give to charity, isn’t it obvious?

Twinkletwinklelil · 16/06/2024 20:35

I still wear them
i dont follow trends tbh. Skinny jeans is what im most comfortable in so I stick to it

Lovemusic82 · 16/06/2024 20:36

I still wear mine (wearing some now), I don’t care about what’s considered fashionable. Straight cut look awful on me, I have nice legs and I want to sho them off in my skinny jeans whilst I still can 🤣

Viewfrommyhouse · 16/06/2024 20:37

I still wear mine. You'll have to prise them off my cold, hard body tbh.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 16/06/2024 20:38

If they were comfy, I’d say keep. Actually as it’s only 2 pairs, keep anyway. As fashions change you might want to try them again and at least this way you don’t spend any money to put them on for a day and then think “oh yes, these was a really uncomfortable style that made me look like I’ve got parsnip legs.” Youll get tempted when they are fashionable again and this way is free.

protectoroftherealm · 16/06/2024 21:05

Only jeans I'll put on my body are low rise diesel skinnies. Look so much better than the baggy wide leg creations or the high rise mum jeans that make the short of torso amongst us look like we're living in sleeping bags.

Kitkat1523 · 16/06/2024 21:16

Keep them til they come back in fashion….im 59 and and back wearing miss sixty flared jeans I had from the 90s

MartyFunkhouser · 16/06/2024 21:18

I put all of mine in the clothing bank.
