Seriously. I bought them because, hey, they're shiny. But what do I wear them with?

OP posts:
southeastastra · 07/04/2008 19:41

hot pants and hi top trainers

Twiglett · 07/04/2008 19:42

a TARDIS to get you back to the 70s?

NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 19:42

I don't own either of those things.

Don't think I could really pull of hot pants. I mean, I'm into the whole 'mutton dressed as spam' thing in theory ...

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 19:43

They're shiny. I don't think you know how shiny they are.

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 07/04/2008 19:43

jeans?!

StripeyMama · 07/04/2008 19:44

I know how shiny they are - cos I think I've got the same ones.

Very, very shiny!

I wear them to go out partying, with little skirt and purple boots.

southeastastra · 07/04/2008 19:45

like her

Twiglett · 07/04/2008 19:48

god I remember owning a bright purple pair of lycra trousers .. I was 13 though .. and it was 19humpty-doo though

southeastastra · 07/04/2008 19:48

they'd look nice with one of those floaty skirts too i reckon

Twiglett · 07/04/2008 19:48

cannot believe these have come round again

no I'm serious, I cannot believe anybody is stupid enough to wear these things again

southeastastra · 07/04/2008 19:49

oh no it's mad, i quite like the mad fashions atm, fun

NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 19:53

Seriously? I mean, then the shinyness wouldn't show.

I am tempted to wear them with my long denim short type things ... sorta ...

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 19:54

I have a good collection of floaty skirts.

Twiglett, I like silly, I like mad. Well, I used to, and it's time I started doing that again. I'm bored of most of my clothes, tbh.

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 19:55

Yeah, they're like in that link, only silver. I don't own hot pants or very short skirts, my shortest ones are an inch or two above the thigh, and very cotton-floaty, not rock chick really, I don't think.

OP posts:
DJCod · 07/04/2008 19:57

they are fab but in a kind of "other wordly way"
think you haev to be rather diosyncratic to wear em
not a felicity kendall clone

uttertripe · 07/04/2008 19:57

oh i think you need the short shorts. can you not cut something off?
or skirt obv (cut again obv)

NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 19:58

Who or what is felicity kendall?

I am probably a bit idiosyncratic ...

OMG, would they work with a sort of halterneck cotton ballgown with gems on it? I've been looking for ways to dress that down ... also the satiny ballgown I bought ...

OP posts:
uttertripe · 07/04/2008 19:58

i think nqc qualifies for that.

DJCod · 07/04/2008 19:58

fark me nqc - fromw aht i knw they so arent you

southeastastra · 07/04/2008 19:58

or longer tops like this

uttertripe · 07/04/2008 19:59

i am LOVING the mental images your wardrobe descriptions are throwing out.

do you think my (dullarama) village would be appeciative?
actually scratch that. i couldnt give a fuck what any of them think.

NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 20:00

No, I don't think I'm much like Felicity Kendall ...

OP posts:
uttertripe · 07/04/2008 20:00

not that i have even the slightest inclination to clad my legs in lame.
i dont think its for me tbh

uttertripe · 07/04/2008 20:01

i miss london and being able to wear mad stuff and not raise an eyebrow.

NotQuiteCockney · 07/04/2008 20:02

That's them, but I got them in silver.

Oh, maybe I can find a longish top/dress thing somewhere. I'll see. I just don't feel like wandering around with my arse hanging out (I am the last person to care about VPL, really really, but in silver lame ... ack), I just want shiny legs.
