Reasonably priced holiday clothes - where online?

Need to get some cheapish holiday clothes - dresses, cover-ups etc and need to shop online. I also need them to flatter my chubby figure 🙄

Don't have a big budget for this so need them to be on the lower price end of the scale.

I've ordered a few bits from George and feel I've exhausted everywhere - looked at Shein but it's a) always crap and b) felt like I was being scammed as the price it shows when you put it in your basket is NOT the price on checkout, so I ditched that idea on principle.

H and m are pretty good, some nice linen pieces too.

HandaFae · 03/06/2024 13:14

Search for your favourite brands and fabrics on Vinted.

Sainsbury's often seem to have some decent-ish stuff for a good price.

CJ0374 · 03/06/2024 13:16

Ebay, TU, M&S, Next

lmjh · 03/06/2024 13:17

Vinted for sure

Matalan had some lovely shirt coverups for not very much - bought a couple for a beach holiday and they didn’t crease and washed up beautifully

H&M has been great for me this summer.

I have a few shades of their linen trousers (they were around £20) and one each of a cream, white and black linen shirt. Covers so many bases just left open with a vest top underneath and can dress it up and down with shoes and jewellery.

Picked up a couple of neutral maxi dresses in Primark for about £13, new look also has a few between £12-20.

Shein is hit and miss but there is always a discount code on site.

Next has a clearance section online (right hand side near top of page). You can pick up some reasonably priced items there (including other brands).

solitarymonster · 03/06/2024 13:24

I have LOADS of the Next linen blend dresses, I find they are flattering, even got complimented last year on them

jay55 · 03/06/2024 13:24

Simply be.
ASOS and boohoo always have cheaper bits on sale too.

I am really in-between sizes so I need to try things on and be able to send back.

Try a combination of charity shops and H&M or TU

MarthaDunstable · 03/06/2024 13:28

Seconding Tu aka Sainsbury's aka Argos

Ok!

I know different brands differ in size and therefore buy accordingly. M&S I find particularly big so buy a smaller size.

I really struggle - I am also kind of a 14 on top, 16 on bottom, yet I bought jeans from Next and they are a 12 😅 Vinted just isn't worth the hassle for me!

I can recommend the Next linen dresses
They bring them out in different patterns every year( I have a few bought on Vinted!)
If in doubt size up as you'll want to be comfortable in the heat

2gorgeousboys · 03/06/2024 18:21

H&M particularly their linen as someone has already suggested
F&Fat Tesco had some lovely swimwear, linen and cover ups although you can't order online.

CandiedPrincess · 03/06/2024 19:04

Thanks - have ordered some bits from H&M - always inspired in store but more choice online and I'll have look later at some others once kids in bed!

My holiday wardrobe is mainly h&M for dresses, linen- style shirts &shorts, and their t-shirts with a graphic/ stripe on
M&S have some fab linen mix skirts and dresses in this year
Tesco don't stock online, but they do good quality best/ tank tops and some good co-ords this year.
Tu at Sainsbury's also good for all kinds of stuff
Matalan for sarongs and sheer beach shirts
Denim shorts are a mixture- I have next, mango & h&M in the drawer

CandiedPrincess · 07/06/2024 17:09

So i didn't like anything in the H&M parcel, it's all going back.

I did get a nice F+F dress at Tesco when shopping yesterday though. Have some stuff to pick up from George tomorrow but I am really struggling. Will look at M&S now as not checked there (I always feel 'too young' but I am 45 😂)

Seasalt have got an Ebay outlet, I just got a jumpsuit for £27. And their stuff washes/wears well. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/seasaltcornwallofficialoutlet
I've just done a big spend on Very - their own brand can be hit/miss but it's easy to send back. 2 of the dresses I ordered were Yours clothing - I tried them years ago and it was awful but I really like these.
