Please recommend me a foundation for 45+ skin

I'm in my mid-40s and I've really noticed a change in my skin. Not hit menopause yet, but possibly peri menopause. My skin seems to have a lot more little lines and is generally drier than it used to be.

I've never worn much makeup; usually just basic moisturiser (something like Simple) and then foundation (No 7 Stay Perfect).

The foundation doesn't seem to be working for me any more; it seems to just sit there, and it emphasises the lines rather than hiding them, and my whole face just looks a bit tired and meh.

Is there something different that I should try? I don't spend a lot on makeup as you can tell, so nothing too fancy. My skin is, I think, fairly normal (not particularly dry or oily etc) and I'm not allergic to anything (as far as I know).

Ok, thanks! I'll see what Google comes up with!

46 - I use Armani Luminous Silk or Lancome Teint Idole for "best" and No.7 hydra luminous for daily. Tbh the No.7 is my all time fave, it seems to blur everything and gives a lovely glow, it's just not as long lasting for nights out etc. illamasqua primer is unbeatable imo.

Really interested in this. Used bare minerals powder foundation for years but now I'm in my mid 40's find it doesn't sit on my skin.

Wondering about Charlotte Tilbury or Clinique, I prefer a light look as on a daily basis I don't generally wear make up, just for occasions.

I've used Clinique Superbalanced foundation for years, but now I WFH, I prefer their CC cream. Lighter and I often get compliments on its finish. I use a highlighter stick in a couple of places too.

I chuckled recently at the MNer who said she looked like Aunt Sally (Worsil Gummage) with full make up on. Less is more when you're 40+.
