How many pairs of sandals do you have?

I have one pair but thinking about investing in another. How many is the norm? I only wear on dry and warm days.

Depends on the occasion. Sandals and slides are my go to in warmer weather. I have comfy supportive ones for popping to the shops etc, black, nude and sparkly ones for dresses and holiday. A few colourful ones and some flatform/wedge sandals. I don’t think you can have too many

RomeoMcFlourish · 16/05/2024 19:11

3 pairs of Birkenstocks and 2 pairs of Dunes for everyday wear.
3 pairs of ‘dressier’ sandals from high street shops for when I need to look a bit nicer. All in different colours so I have something for most outfits.

LoobyDop · 16/05/2024 19:25

Far more than I need, because they are so closely associated with happy times for me that I keep buying them. I could manage perfectly well with two pairs- one flat and comfortable enough to walk around in all day, and one that can be a bit less practical and more stylish for when less walking is required. And tbh I wouldn’t need the second pair, but the ones I have currently are rose gold leather flatforms.

anon2022anon · 16/05/2024 19:36

Sliders for poolside
Comfy black and comfy tan ones for every day
Dressier white ones and dressier black ones
Leopard print ones

So 6 pairs of flat ones at least, and I've probably forgotten some sparkly or metallic ones.

FeelingSad2024 · 16/05/2024 19:38

Several and have just added to the collection today following a trip to my local garden centre where they surprisingly had some gems-
One pair plain blue casual for blue summer dresses (I wear a lot of blue)
One pair black Gladiator sandals for anything black
One pair white Birkenstock dupes
One pair tan/woven Birkenstock dupes
One pair white and brown 'flat forms'
Gold sliders
Brown sliders
One pair glittery for evening going out

Basically I live in sandals in the summer and generally have one pair to go with most outfits/dresses that I own

TheChosenTwo · 16/05/2024 19:41

One pair of Birkenstocks (the ones with the double straps, cork sole and black straps) and one pair of flip flops.
I absolutely hate feet, my own and other peoples 😂
the Birkenstocks are for 40 degree holiday temperatures going out for dinner, the flip flops I take to the spa and also for during the day on holiday.
I never wear them otherwise, never found a pair that I thought weren’t really ugly!! I even hate the Birkenstocks but they will do for holidays!
I have many, many other pairs of other footwear but not sandals.

isthismylifenow · 16/05/2024 19:43

Way too many.

I'm fact I packed most away today as we are going into winter now so the boots have come out.

About 10 pairs. But they get worn at least 9 months of the year.

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 16/05/2024 19:48

Nike sliders
Black birkenstock dupes
Tan leather sandals with ankle strap
Leopard print sandals with ankle strap

MakemineaGandT · 16/05/2024 19:49

Ok I’ve counted.
20 pairs of sandals/espadrilles
9 pairs of sliders/flipflops
😮😅
in my defence, some are yeaaars old.

WeightoftheWorld · 16/05/2024 19:50

I have two and they're both the same just different colours Grin Multicoloured ones for usual use, black ones for work. Also occasionally wear the black ones if going out on a night or something if the multicoloured ones will clash too much with my outfit. Tevas. Comfiest sandals ever, I will probably never wear any others now I've discovered them.

disneyparis · 16/05/2024 19:53

I have maybe 3/4

birkenstock type dupes which i wear everyday and need replacing each year

haviana flip flop - more for beach/ pool

2 pairs of wedge sandals that don't wear very often

useitorlose · 16/05/2024 19:53

Probably 12-14. Skechers, Birkenstocks, flats, heels, assorted colours....

I wear closed shoes at work but sandals to and from work and evenings and weekends.

PragmaticDramatic · 16/05/2024 19:54

Two. One pair are pretty ugly and the other is quite a nice pair from Zara. I am a fan of espidrilles so have about two or three pairs of those.

DawnBreaks · 16/05/2024 19:55

None. My toes aren't fit for public consumption anymore. Trainers all the way.

mitogoshi · 16/05/2024 19:55

Old pair and newer pair of everyday sandals and 3 pairs of smart sandals in different colours

I'm constantly amazed at how many mumsnetters own multiple pairs of sandals. I only wear them in warm and dry weather, of which we get very little where I live. I own more pairs than I ever have just now (3 pairs) plus a pair of Josef Siebel flip flops. They won't get much wear until the weather improves. My socks stay on unless it is over 21 degrees.

Alittlefrustrated · 16/05/2024 19:59

14, I can think of - bought a beaded pair last week. I will try not to buy any more, this year. I've had a dodgy achilles and calf for a few months, so the high and backless ones aren't likely to leave the wardrobe. Fortunately I have about the same number of pairs of trainers 😂

Mairzydotes · 16/05/2024 20:08

3 - a metallic pair (2018)
Some birkenstock arizona knock offs from Next (2020)
Saltwaters (2022)

I only wear them when it's very hot, I wore the Next ones last weekend. They don't get much wear so they last a long time.

Withswitch · 16/05/2024 20:08

1 pair of saltwaters which are horrible flat slippy deathtraps.

1 pair of Skechers foamy ones for long days of walking.

DisgruntledPelican · 16/05/2024 20:11

Two pairs of flat leather (one tan, one black) and two pairs of strappy chunky heeled (one black, one gold)

I live in the north west so get about ten days a year wear out of them, plus holidays and the occasional summer wedding. I’ve had the flat tan ones for about ten years 😅

Precipice · 16/05/2024 20:11

2 pairs of walking sandals. One is my main pair and one is the older back-up. I got the newer one because the older one was a lot less comfortable for long-term walking than my slide-on Sketchers, less cushioning.

The aforementioned slide-on Sketchers sandals.

Unfortunately, they're all a little marked from sunscreen residue. It's hard to top up sunscreen during the day in a way that never contaminates.

I think I have three pairs of swimming pool flip-flops. Two are between the toes, one slide-on. One are a bit sad looking (they were white and green beneath the foot and the white is now not so white), so they're a back-up, more for going out into the garden to hang up washing. The slide-on ones have a bit of a strange material beneath the foot - I got them because I thought they'd be like these very comfortable ones I borrowed from someone else once, but they were a disappointment.

RampantIvy · 16/05/2024 20:11

Mine last for ages as well as I only wear them when it is hot. Since developing arthritis in one foot I can barely walk in my wedges.

ILikeDinosaurs · 16/05/2024 20:17

1 pair Birkenstocks
1 pair Birkenstocks tan wedges
1 pair Fitflop comfy sandals
Loads of flipflops
Some older flat strappy sandals I don't wear as much but keep "just in case"

I really want another pair of Birks maybe in gold or tan

itsnotmeitsu · 16/05/2024 20:32

You've made me go and look. I have 12.

saveusername111 · 16/05/2024 20:37

Not including flip flops!
