I have one pair but thinking about investing in another. How many is the norm? I only wear on dry and warm days.

Two pairs of Gabor sandals (one flat, one chunkier)
One pair of Clark's Birkie style
One pair of Josef Siebel Birkie style
One pair of chunky Cork mule wedges with a heel.

Not many

Perfectpots · 16/05/2024 20:39

1 birkenstocks
1 flat skechers walking sandals
1 old (beach) walking sandals
1 x black pair wedges
1 x red pair wedges
1 x white pair wedges

I'd like more but cant!

rainbowbee · 16/05/2024 20:40

One pair of Birkenstocks. One pair of pretty but practical sandals with a small block heel. One pair of flip flops. One impractical pair for sitting in.

I have a shoe problem.

I have about 7 pairs of salt waters
3 pairs Birkenstocks
Pair of Wedges/heeled sandals
Cork sole sandals
2 pairs of flat sparkly
Another flat pair
A sort of gladiator pair
1 pair vans sliders
I guess 6/7 pairs of flip flops (various vintages)

And crocs and a pair of Birkenstock bostons, are we counting them?

Let's not talk about the boots and trainer situation.

2 pairs Saltwater, one flat and one thicker sole
3 pairs of dressy best ones in different colours which I have had years
1 pair Merrell walking sandals
I recently bought a pair of Hotter Tourist sandals in Next sale for walking distances in, they feel very comfortable though I haven't had a chance to wear them yet.
2 pairs of old comfy Clark's sandals that I can't bring myself to throw out.

itsnotmeitsu · 16/05/2024 20:49

@Withswitch > '1 pair of saltwaters which are horrible flat slippy deathtraps.'

Do not wear those anymore 😕When I was walking my dog there was a flash storm and the sandals I was wearing had a leather sole. I had bare feet in the sandals and I ended up face down on the pavement, resulting in a massive black eye. Withswitch, throw those sandals in the bin; you don't need deathtraps on your feet 😯

WeRateSquirrels · 16/05/2024 20:53

Two pairs Birkenstocks, one pair Saltwaters (love them, don’t find them too flat/hard/slippy) and one pair Esska platforms.

Love sandals and wear as much as possible, don’t like trainers so tend to go straight from boots to sandals. Once I’m in my sandals in the spring it takes a lot to get me back out of them.

chalkyc2 · 16/05/2024 20:55

@RampantIvy I buy a few pairs every year and they just build up I suppose. I bought my first pair of saltwaters over 10 years ago and they're still really good condition. You don't tend to wear them out when you have many pairs!!

chalkyc2 · 16/05/2024 20:55

Quite fancy some teva's and a chunky black pair this year

NahNeedsGarlic · 16/05/2024 21:07

20 to 30 pairs? Probably way higher tbf, I’m not even attempting to count.

I live in them from about April to November. The ‘trainers with everything’ trend can get lost. I hate having overheated feet.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 16/05/2024 21:57

20+ I have a serious shoe problem.

GiveYourHeadAWobble · 16/05/2024 22:06

One pair of flipflops (by the pool and around the house only)
One pair of black leather flat, comfortable sandals, which are also "smart"
A pair of brown leather cork-soled sandals (shabby)
Walking sandals
Flat, dressy sandals for weddings and smart events only
Mid heel dressy sandals

OneLemonOrca · 16/05/2024 22:08

1 pair I have had them for about 5 years they’re flimsy now and not wearable they had a lot of use and an embellishment got chewed off by the dog but I kept wearing them when I bought new ones they didn’t feel right and weren’t worn in so I gave them away

familyissues12345 · 16/05/2024 22:12

I've got two pairs - a pair of sparkly flatforms from New Look and a pair of tan Saltwaters. Planning on getting another pair of salties soon!

longdistanceclaraclara · 16/05/2024 22:13

Actual sandals? Three.
Havianas and crocs, way too many. I'm a flip dip hir for eight months a year.

Teddleshon · 16/05/2024 22:17

Crumbs, I’d say about 20 but then again some date back more than 25 years. I live in Birkenstocks at home but have a whole heap of silver / velvet/ glittery sandals that come out every summer and also a wide range of comfortable every day sandals. My daughters constantly raid them.

DGPP · 16/05/2024 22:42

About 30 but summer is my favorite season and I love wearing different pairs. Then I have about 8 pairs of flip flops, again all get worn!

RampantIvy · 16/05/2024 19:57

I'm constantly amazed at how many mumsnetters own multiple pairs of sandals. I only wear them in warm and dry weather, of which we get very little where I live. I own more pairs than I ever have just now (3 pairs) plus a pair of Josef Siebel flip flops. They won't get much wear until the weather improves. My socks stay on unless it is over 21 degrees.

Some sandals are dressier ones that I might wear for a day/night out, depends on the outfit. Then there’s the casual everyday slides. I hate having warm feet so as long as it’s not raining I’ll have the sandals out from about late April until the start of October. I wear a lot of jumpsuits/dresses/wide leg trousers in summer day to day and they’re the perfect shoe. Everyone’s different I suppose. I’m in wales so we get the wet end of the stick a lot but still enjoy sandals

Mumofoneandone · 16/05/2024 23:15

3 pairs of Birkenstocks in different colours but these last years. Live in them for months each year!
1 pair ancient flipflops for beach etc!
Would love some dressier ones but sadly can't wear heels at the moment (health reasons) and struggled to find such comfy ones as my birks!

ReignOfError · 16/05/2024 23:27

Six, two flat, two wedges of different heights, fake Birkenstocks, and Keens walking sandals. Eight if include my Crocs and gardening clogs.

Candyfloss99 · 16/05/2024 23:28

I'm afraid to say that I must have about 30 pairs, if we include flip flops in that then about 50.

TheOGCCL · 16/05/2024 23:58

I love sandals as my feet are one part of my body I like! I only wear gold ones, they go with everything. I alternate between a flat pair and one with a slight heel. I have had more in the past but they just didn’t get worn so I streamlined.

Thank goodness its not just me..I love sandals and they last for years.
