Sandals/trainers for a hot city break with lots of walking

Looking for some comfortable shoes to take on a city break which will involve a fair amount of walking. I'd like some comfortable sandals AND some comfortable trainers and both ideally that would look OK with dresses (so nothing too clumpy). I've heard good things about Sketchers but looking at the website, there are so many options! Any advice please?

The best walking sandals I've found are the Merrells

They don't look too clumpy

Haven't tried the Skechers sandals so can't help you there!

I have walked miles in my Fitflop sandals, the ones with the ankle strap not the mile type.

I've got these and really recommend them. Skechers Women's Reggae Slim-Simply Stretch Sport Sandal.

Also, skechers bobs are light and comfy

I have some Skechers arch fit Reggae sandals that I bought just a few weeks ago but they can't be found online any more. They are very comfortable.

Birkenstock's for me. Walked 9km roughly every day for three days in a hot and sweaty New York.

Thanks I have some Birkenstocks and have walked a lot in them in the past but just recently I've found them not quite so comfortable

Thank you - just had a look - there are four different types. Not sure I'm keen on the knitted look ones but the others look OK. How do they fit? I'm usually a 4.5 and not got slim fit (although not particularly wide).

They are true to size and you won’t find anything more comfortable

I can't recommend these highly enough. I've bought them in another colour now as they are so comfortable. All three straps adjust independently so they fit perfectly. I live in them in summer.

Much nicer on than they look in the photo. There's something about the cross foot strap that makes them flattering. When I was trying them on in the shop another shopper bought some too as she said they looked so good on my feet....and my feet are far from pretty so it must be the shoes. https://josefseibel.co.uk/collections/holiday-sandals/products/josef-seibel-tonga-25?_pos=11&_fid=00e4c3c18&_ss=c&variant=42444084412659

JOSEF SEIBEL Tonga 25

JOSEF SEIBEL Tonga 25, with its wrap-around cork sole, will provide the ultimate all-day comfort. Its adjustable straps and practical wedge heel make this a very versatile slip-on style that is the perfect choice to finish any look.

Watching with interest, but I have hobbit wide feet, so even more of a challenge!

Sketchers honestly try them !

I have been in Lisbon this week, doing much more walking than expected and my feet were agony. I bought these on Wednesday and have been floating on air ever since! My first Sketchers, but I suspect they won't be my last...

I have the mule version of those and can confirm that they are incredibly comfortable. I like that you can adjust the straps over the toes and over the arch.

I really like the look of those Skechers @BarryKentPoet

I walked 27000 steps a day for 3 weeks in Japan in Sketchers Go Walk - they were amazing.

Also I got some Hotter sandals....they were comfy and didn't look too bad https://www.hotter.com/tourist-ii-sandals-green-1700

skechers. I’ve had a number of styles of sandals, my fave one they don’t do any more but they’re elasticated which I find helpful

when I’m hot abroad and walk a lot my feet sweat and rub against straps so prefer something flexible. if you look you can sometimes see one strap is elastic or the connection to the buckle has an elastic extender

skechers have really spongy soles which helps back pain and lets me stand on them a long time
