Would this be suitable to wear as a guest to a wedding?

Would this be suitable to wear as a guest to a wedding? Or is it too bridal/white?

Perhaps the same dress, but in another colour?

Is this Reformation? I would maybe opt for the same dress in a different colour. It’s not white but there’s a lot of white in it. Beautiful dress though

Tab33 · 21/04/2024 20:19

its from House of CB 😃

I do agree. I’ll look at other colours. Just prefer this one.

Add blue shoes and a blue fascinator then you're clearly not bridal

No. Neither.

mitogoshi · 21/04/2024 21:55

Add a blue jacket, wrap or cardigan

Jk987 · 21/04/2024 22:43

It's not bridal, it's got blue flowers all over it!

It looks like a bridesmaid's dress to me, to be honest.

Capmagturk · 21/04/2024 22:51

It's absolutely fine to wear its only plain cream or white you shouldn't wear and doesn't look anything like a bridesmaids dress at all, I've been to about 20 weddings in the last 10 years and never seen bridesmaids wearing anything vaguely similar and plenty of people wear dresses like this.

MissBedelia · 21/04/2024 22:55

It looks nothing like a wedding dress or bridesmaid’s dress and is absolutely fine to wear.

LetsGoRoundTheRoundabout · 21/04/2024 22:58

Id probably avoid it - I’m sure many people would be absolutely ok with it, but some wouldn’t, and it’s just not worth messing with for a wedding.

If you already had this, and couldn’t afford a new one, I’d say go for it, with a blue wrap or something.

MissBedelia · 21/04/2024 23:04

Don’t wear a wrap. Only on mn wedding threads are wraps a thing

RosesAndHellebores · 21/04/2024 23:08

It looks like a sun dress to me. No, not a dress for a wedding guest to wear. I think that's what you meant, I struggled with your opening post which implied you'd be wearing a guest.

Pieceofpurplesky · 21/04/2024 23:09

I like it but can't get past my mum has a nightie in very similar, if not the same, pattern!

My DD has this dress. Be aware it's dry clean only. Many House of CB dresses are.

HeddaGarbled · 21/04/2024 23:30

Yeah, it does look like a bit like a nightie. And why on earth is the model in the first pic pulling the strap down?

vincettenoir · 22/04/2024 09:07

Yeah, it's nice. I would wear with dark shoes.

Janetime · 22/04/2024 09:10

It’s fine, no one will think you’re the bride in that lol. Just wear nude sandals. It will be fine. I think some folks take the white thing too far.

stopringingme · 22/04/2024 09:34

Looks like a nightie to me.

Depends on the wedding, if it is a casual affair it is okay if it is more formal I don't think it is right.

But if you like it then go for it as you are the one wearing it.

Janetime · 22/04/2024 09:36

Can’t believe folks on here wear nighties like that. lol. Doesn’t look like a nightie to me.

DappledThings · 22/04/2024 09:36

It's weirdly low-cut. That's what makes it look like a nightie and inappropriate for a wedding. The pattern is fine.

DrJoanAllenby · 22/04/2024 09:39

It looks like you've repurposed an old nightdress!

It's thirty quid on Amazon.

It's awful. Aim for having more class.

This! It's giving nightie vibes and the balcony neckline I think it's called looks awful

MissBedelia · 22/04/2024 09:48

It doesn’t look like a nightie. In the eyes of a lot of MN you are not suitably attired for a wedding unless you are in full Phase Eight. And a pashmina

Woah! Is that the same dress? No way! It's £149 here!
