Would this be suitable to wear as a guest to a wedding? Or is it too bridal/white?

Perhaps the same dress, but in another colour?

perhaps some sort of shawl or whatever

Add a blue jacket, wrap or cardigan

Yes, blue jacket for a bit of a cover up and a pop of solid colour.

Allwelcone · 27/04/2024 11:04

I'd think it ok on a very ypung girl, maybe up to 25 otherwise doesn't look posh/formal enough for a wedding

katebushh · 27/04/2024 11:27

No. It's too flimsy, too low cut and too white.

Janetime · 27/04/2024 11:57

Why’s it too white, no one will think she’s the bride or upstaging her, there is nothing remotely bridal about that dress.

Bearsinthetrap · 27/04/2024 12:06

I just don’t understand why out of all the colours in the world you want to wear a pale coloured dress with a white background

too white. Too low cut.

celebrityskin · 27/04/2024 12:28

Not sure about on its own but as previous people have said add a blue jacket, cardi or pashmina and or fascinated and it would look more formal and less white

Who the fuck wears a pashmina in 2024?

Quite a lot of people to be fair, a gorgeous cashmere one can cover a lot of uses, use as a scarf, or as a blanket on a plane, or as a wrap over a dress.

i have a lovely charcoal cashmere wrap, which is great when I’m flying, can use folded up as a big scarf in winter, and as much as I haven’t been anywhere recently to dress up ie wedding I would consider taking one on a summers day to wrap up if it got chilly of an evening.

AlwaysGinPlease · 28/04/2024 08:28

Sorry but no, it looks like nightgown to me

Stillbloodyfreezing · 28/04/2024 08:31

I thought nightie too before I read the comments. It’s also very low cut. I couldn’t wear it as I would be hanging out of it.

mammaCh · 28/04/2024 08:40

Doesn't look bridal.
Does look like a nightdress though.
But, could get away with it.

Iaskedyouthrice · 28/04/2024 08:43

It is a beautiful dress but I agree its not for a wedding. I personally wouldn't wear a pale colour on a white background but I don't think most people care nowadays.

But I think the inference on these threads is that it should be worn all day as a cover up. No one does this. Since the 90s

What you’ve described is different. And perfectly reasonable 😃

Cozy

The pattern is nice enough but what were they thinking with the top of it?! It looks like something a wench would wear while spilling tankards of ale everywhere!
There are so many nicer dresses out there.

Ladyprehensile · 28/04/2024 09:41

MissBedelia · 22/04/2024 09:48

It doesn’t look like a nightie. In the eyes of a lot of MN you are not suitably attired for a wedding unless you are in full Phase Eight. And a pashmina

As above.
Too much flesh.

It seems to be the thing with most House of CB clothes.

caringcarer · 28/04/2024 10:20

It would be fine for a summer wedding. I'd wear blue shoes, carry a blue bag and blue fascinator and probably a little blue cameo jacket.

This is spot on.

Noooooo! Honestly that sounds hideous and almost every wedding fashion crime in one post.

Ineedaholidayyyy · 28/04/2024 16:50

It doesn't look remotely bridal and I have never seen a bridesmaid wear anything like this either, it's perfectly fine IMO.

I'm not keen on how it sits on the bust, but it could just look odd on the model. What other colours does it come in?
