I wear them and I’m 43- today!!

Happy Birthday😉

OP posts:
CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 21/04/2024 18:03

One stars, high tops, all Chucks, those big platform-y ones; I’m 51 and you’ll have to pry every pair of Converse I own off my cold, dead legs.

My last purchase was a pair of black Chucks with flames on the sides from Vinted. And some cream One Stars some guy was selling for a quid.

Bargain.

Surgarblossom · 21/04/2024 18:07

Definitely not, my mum is in her 60's and she wears them and she wears them well !

HerRoyalNotness · 21/04/2024 18:11

A man would never ask this. Wear what you like no matter your age!

sadly my feet don’t fit well in them otherwise I’d wear them too (51)

greengreyblue · 21/04/2024 18:13

I don’t question this stuff. I’m 53 and don’t get so much flesh out these days but trainer brands wouldn’t cross my mind op. I would add that as I am anonymous on here, I think I’m more stylish than people half my age. 😀

DrJoanAllenby · 21/04/2024 18:16

Wear what you want at any age but those are absolutely dreadful.

Spitalfieldrose · 21/04/2024 18:17

As I’ve been wearing them since I was 14 and am now 52, I intend on being buried in them. I say go for it! 😁

bradpittsbathwater · 21/04/2024 18:19

I'm not keen on the platform ones. I feel like I'd trip over and my feet would look like boats. £90 too! I buy on Vinted

MermaidEyes · 21/04/2024 18:19

I'm late 40s, I wear them. So do my friends, my age and older. My kids also wear them. They're teenagers. Converse and trainers are just timeless and ageless.

Meredusoleil · 21/04/2024 18:20

I'm 48 (49 this year) and wear similar black leather ones. Don't like the other grey ones you posted though.

Growlybear83 · 21/04/2024 18:21

Of course it's not too old. Why would anyone think that?

DeadbeatYoda · 21/04/2024 18:28

Absolutely not. Go forth and be comfy in cute converse!

Isitanamelanchieroraplum · 21/04/2024 18:30

Too old? Why? I am over 60 and love my all stars and my flowery docs. Sooooo much ageism on here

TheRainItRaineth · 21/04/2024 18:51

I am in my fifties and wear them and so does DD (late teens). So I would say they are for every age!

PrimalLass · 21/04/2024 18:59

Absolutely not

witchseason · 21/04/2024 19:02

Of course not. Fine for any age.

Kitkat1523 · 21/04/2024 19:03

I’m 59…..I have 3 pairs….red, lilac and baby blue

boredybored · 21/04/2024 19:04

I have about 6 pairs of these . They make me an inch taller and I'm 50 .. madness that there is a so called age limit on this shit !🙄

BestZebbie · 21/04/2024 19:11

I also only see women in their 40s wearing converse, so I think you'll be good. (The 'average school gate mum' with a quilted gilet, not the more fashionable ones in head to toe branded gym kit)

Lovethatforyouhun · 21/04/2024 19:17

They have to be almost 100 years old as a style. So no! And no even if they came out yesterday.

ABirdsEyeView · 21/04/2024 20:01

I'm 50 - I've got the black ones with hearts embroidered up the back. Before that I had pink ones. They are ageless imo.

Blarn · 21/04/2024 20:09

Converse are utilitarian (most styles) and a classic. I wear them at 39 as as I find them incredibly comfortable don't plan on stopping wearing them.

plumblina · 21/04/2024 20:10

I've got approximately 20 pairs and am 4; so hopefully not!

They are very common in the women in their 40s I know, but my teenage nieces also have them, so I reckon they are pretty timeless!

plumblina · 21/04/2024 20:10

44 not 4...

Monstermunchy · 21/04/2024 21:51

They’re ageless!
I wear them (50) and my 20 yr old ds does too - both of us have high tops, normal soles - I have black, pink and red, he has green and ox blood
