Why don’t more clothes shops do size 9 ladies shoes

I’m a size 8 but sometimes need a 9 as wide footed. Sometimes I better with a bigger shoe with an insole than being cramped with a smaller shoe.

Find it difficult to find shoes which fit me, are comfortable and not heavy as it is. Can’t be doing with heavy shoes as I have weak ankles.

Have tried size 8s and tight and they are the biggest shoe size that shop/brand do.

With some trainer lines, they stop at size 7 for women and love the colours.

Surely the average size of shoes that women has increased over time but some brands/shops have not caught up with the times.

I wear Skechers size 8 and know that they fit so able to buy them online without issues

Also sorry to say but some of them will be men buying them...

Yep, I think you're correct there.

The same reason that a lot of shops only cater to dress sizes 6-18. It's shit if you're outside the core sizes for footwear or clothing. I'm a dress size 18/20, so it's always a bit of a gamble deciding if I'll be able to shop in store or not!

Agree that women probably squeeze themselves into the size they can find. That's certainly true of clothing IME

I’m a size 16/18 but need a 20 in coats as needs to fit me with 2-3 layers on top. Size 18 coats are fine if I just wear a thin t-shirt

I never knew plus size coats ran small compared to other clothes, someone ought to bring that up with manufacturers. If I buy a 10 it's true to size.

It's the same with size 12 men's shoes. Usually 'men's' is 7-11. Sometimes 7-12. If it is labelled as 7-12 and you ask for a 12, the most common response is, we only ever have a couple of pairs of 12s in and they sell straight away

or they do have a 12 and it looks like a canoe because it's obviously been designed as a smaller size and then the design just stretched

12 isn't even that uncommon.

Edited

Everyone I know who has discussed coats with me get a size bigger as it better to accommodate clothes in and sitting (buses, cars)

I've never found that. I have a coat a size too small that I can't wear a jumper and a top under, but the right size I can.

I'm not ruling out your theory entirely but my style of footwear isn't the stuff a fetishist is going to go for Grin

They get snapped up because they are rare...

I meant size 9 feet aren't rare.

I'd say they were a bit. I've never met another woman (to speak to) with size 9 feet

Oh dear I'm in loop... I posted that the size 9 shoes I sell on ebay get sold really quickly so I don't think size 9 feet are THAT rare. Then 2 posters jumped in thinking I'm so thick I don't understand what rare means and assuming I meant the shoes themselves are rare... (duh), so I was just clarifying what I meant. And, hopefully, establishing that I'm not really thick.

TLDR: demand for size 9 shoes exceeds supply. In my opinion.

Sorry! I think I missed a page

Rare ? we are all size 8/9, tall, long narrow feet, 9 is not rare at all.

very tall ladies, models, must be in large sized shoes for balance

Now ladies are bigger, taller, heavier, large sized shoes and wide fittings
are needed to cater for we Amazonians

My grandad would sing “ herring boxes without topses, sandals made
for Clementine” when he saw our footwear. He was a size 7.

larger shoes online snapped up will be drag shoes, surely

Femme2804 · 21/04/2024 23:37

I really wish i’m size 9 OP. At least i still have choice eventhough not much. I’m woman and i’m size 10 wide 🥲🥲🥲🥲 Asos does size 10 but not much and its not very good quality.
