waves 'get out of bikini free' card due to being knocked up!

StrangeTown · 31/03/2008 20:10

Elemis body brush - body brushing in general actually works. Don't bother with the gels etc, just a cream that smells good after as you are a bit scabby... Id did use the Decleor sculpt ones when pregnant and the Aqua Natal ladies all liked the smell when I slapped it on in a terrified of stretchmarks kind of way.

StrangeTown · 31/03/2008 20:10

Sorry I went a bit random there...

cocolepew · 31/03/2008 20:13

Aren't you supposed to brush towards your heart or you die a terrible death?

Or away.

StrangeTown · 31/03/2008 20:15

Yes, that's right. I always have a moment before I start thinking err which way, what if I get it wrong, which side is my heart on, how do I do my right arm etc etc

brimfull · 31/03/2008 20:24

oooh -how did you do that teeny weent TM?

must confess to being more interested in tiny tm than body brushes....
ok, which cream is going to Make a Difference?
And who knows whether you are supposed to brush clockwise or c-clockwise on your tummey to encourage most efficient form of de-tox? And clockwise from which direction? Looking from above? In mirror? So many issues to be clarified!

orangina · 01/04/2008 13:05

(extra e in tummy there... sorry. should probably body brush it out)

I have to confess that in a recent push to start taking care of myself better, I started body brushing, just with a Body Shop round brush which I bought before Christmas, and I have been highly impressed by the results.

I am overweight with flabby thighs but my cellulite has improved immensely with daily body brushing on my legs before my shower in the morning. I have to be careful not to do it when my skin is at its most sensitive - can cause eczma patches from time to time. But generally has been really good. When I showed the results to my sister and mom recently, they were impressed.

Much better than any of the creams I have ever tried.

I have also started drinking a lot more water, which is supposed to make a difference.

Orangina - I really noticed a difference within about 2 months - it may have been before that, but that's when I was visiting my mom and sister and showing off my much-improved thighs.

orangina · 01/04/2008 14:56

God, I am such an instant gratification junkie, I was hoping you might say something like "48 hours"....
Will have to get brushing then....!

spamm · 01/04/2008 15:09

LOL - I know what you mean, but actually, it's not that bad. It only takes about 3 mins, as I only do my legs. The skin on my arms is just too sensitive for this and I need to lose some tummy before I even contemplate doing that.

I just have the morning radio show on and mindlessly scrub.... sometimes to music as well!

Another vote for body shop brush. I don't/didn't have cellulite BUT have found it has made my legs much softer and silky.

Sorry I'm Not much help on anti-cellulite front but it is a nice product.

And yep, circular sweeps upwards about circulation.

BBBee · 02/04/2008 01:27

i have stared using the nutri-slim cream after dry body brushing - it is nice and softening but I never do anything in winter so it could just be better than nothing.
