I’m over my winter wardrobe now

Please bring the spring.

This is just a moan. I love all my clothes, but my god I am bored of jumpers. I have a wardrobe full of lovely spring summer midi and maxi dresses but the weather just isn’t good enough to wear them. I know I could compromise and layer jackets etc but I want to waft about in an oversized linen shirt not an effing rain poncho.

I want to wear sandals

I’m so desperate I have started messing around with fake tan on my legs.

First sign of a dry day and a temperature that starts with a 2 I’ll be out in a dress, sandals and a raffia handbag… keep an eye out for me. 😎

Same here. I'm so sick of wearing socks! It's at the point now where im feeling too warm in trainers/boots but it's not warm enough for open toes. I can't wait to get my flip flops out.
My feet will need some attention though 😆

Thinkle · 05/04/2024 09:15

OMG sock yes totally over them ! And also faffing about with laces when you are getting out of the house.

I optimistically did a footner a few weeks ago… 😭

I agree with you, but have resigned myself to jeans and jumpers for a couple of months yet 😩

Last summer was so crap though that I don't think I ever fully moved to my usual summer wardrobe 😒

CharlotteStreetW1 · 05/04/2024 09:18

I'm so with you on this. I'm so sick of my winter clothes and can't wait for spring.

Blankscreen · 05/04/2024 09:19

Yep me too. I'm still in boots!

Would actually like to wear a pair of trainers with a bare ankle. Even that's feels too daring at the moment and to also see some colour.

Grey grey grey grey everywhere I look

Workingmytickettoparadise · 05/04/2024 10:59

I’ve broken out a summer top today and have my leather jacket on hand. I’m so fed up of the coat/ jacket decision on the morning.

HolidayAtNight · 05/04/2024 11:00

Me too! Constant rain means I am stuck wearing the same two pairs of shoes (and one of those is wellies!) all the time. So fed up of it.

And coats! The fun decision each day as to whether I need the one that's waterproof and warm, or the one that's just waterproof. While my lovely jackets languish in the wardrobe.

Catandsquirrel · 05/04/2024 11:04

Amen!! I was moaning about this yesterday! I hate dressing at this time of year. Winter clothes seem too heavy and spring stuff dragged down by black tights (I much prefer dresses and skirts to trousers). I did wide wool trousers with a pastel silk top and trainers yesterday, got outside after my appointment only for it to be pissing it down! Nearly ruined my bloody shirt.

HothouseFlower · 05/04/2024 11:29

I hear you! Time for a change! I can't even wear dresses with tights under because it's so windy.

Thing is, I do love knitwear, scarves, layers, boots, socks. But just not for six bloody months!

I had a massive realisation last year that buying summer dresses in February meant I was actually trying to buy a bit of summer. I didn't need the dresses. I just wanted the warm weather! Luckily managed to return them in time. They would never have been worn.

lipgoss · 05/04/2024 14:19

I've gone bare legs today, in the pouring rain and 6 degrees... I knew what dress I wanted to wear, and that it'd be ruined by tights, so just went for it. Toes were a a bit numb this morning (chunky loafers on feet), but a small sacrifice to escape my bloody winter boots...
I've decided that I'm going to dress for April whether the weather agrees or not...

dudsville · 05/04/2024 14:22

Also same here! I find it particularly hard getting dressed for any evening event as it's going to be cold outside and warm inside.

Laiste · 05/04/2024 15:50

Yes!
Sick of the same things. Also eyeing the fake tan because my legs are soooooo pale they're almost blue now!

In the winter i bought some lined floaty silk wide trousers in dusky navy blue to slob around the house in. They were so lovely and comfy (deep jersey waist band) that i went back on the site and bought the bright orange and the bright pink and the pale blue! I want the sun to come out so i can bloody wear them with a nice white vest top or whatever !! Fed up with seeing them folded sadly in the drawer.

(DH says they're Jolly Pirate Trousers but i don't give a shit)

Oooh who are these enticing sounding trousers by?

LoobyDop · 05/04/2024 15:56

I’m currently mostly in long sleeved T-shirts, jeans and trainers. Not very inspiring, but it’s progress from the jumpers and boots I was still huddling into a couple of weeks ago. And I’ve swapped BIG COATS for Medium Jackets, and put all the opaque tights away.

onlyconnect · 05/04/2024 15:59

Same. I'm actually thinking of swapping my clothes over ( ie putting winter away and getting summer out) even though the weather isn't up to it

Laiste · 05/04/2024 16:00

@stayathomegardener hang on i'll try and link ...

MotherWol · 05/04/2024 16:10

I feel this! I did the seasonal wardrobe sort last week, because it feels like the quality of the light has changed outside, and now black clothes just look dusty and wrong. It might not be that warm and summery yet, but I've swapped black coats and trousers over for navy, and swapped in more light colours, so it feels more seasonally appropriate. Can't wait for a few dry, light days!

Catandsquirrel · 05/04/2024 16:12

Pure silk trousers for 35 quid?? What a bargain!!

tillyandmilly · 05/04/2024 16:13

No love my cosy jumpers and wearing my comfy boots and planning to continue wearing my boots until June as i also hate shaving my legs and like to hide my puffy ankles! 🤣

Cantonet · 05/04/2024 16:15

I'm another totally fed up of my Winter clothes. Hence I've archived ( online on the app) & in real life ... my cords & heavy winter jumpers/scarves/coats. And un-archived my Spring shirts & t shirts. Partially, because I nearly bought a couple more Muslin shirts today. But then I realised I have several from last year in every colour. Including a stripe & a bright blue that I was going to buy today. I have everything downloaded onto the Whering app & it's literally helped me so much to remember & dig out my Spring wardrobe from last year. Plus helped me to sift out & pack away my winter items.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 05/04/2024 16:21

Urgh, same. I've resorted to fake tanning my ankles and rolling my socks down to not show (but keep my feet warm still!) under my trainers. Even contemplated putting my ankle bracelet back on just to add a slither of summer optimism to my dirgy winter outfits.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 05/04/2024 16:22

I meant sliver Blush

Laiste · 05/04/2024 16:25

You all know what's going to happen -

At some point soon - when we're not expecting it - the temp will suddenly soar to 90 in the shade, we'll all scramble about looking for our fake tan, digging around for our shorts and skirts and worrying about having no sun lotion, buying stuff online and getting the fan out of the loft ....

and 4 days later it'll start pissing down again and we'll be shivering and back in our grunge 😂
