Big soft pants with an actual gusset

I've watched the threads on here about pants for a few years now.

Like many of you I've had to abandon M&S due to the ever-shrinking gussets. My HG is the Sloggi Maxi in modal/elastane which they've now discontinued in favour of rigid/plasticky alternatives.

I've got the Wirarpa high waist knickers from Amazon and while they're definitely much better in the gusset and length, I find the material a bit too thick for the summer and sleeping in.

Has anyone found anything similar to the Wirarpas in a lighter material like modal? I think the elastane content is what actually makes pants feel lighter. I think the comfy Sloggi ones were 12% elastane 88% modal but I cut the labels out ages ago...

BTW I got these recently and the material is very soft, but they aren't high-waisted enough if you're tall. Even though I sized up when I saw they were made in China.

Check out Boody. I find these very comfy but don't know the materials (not willingly to whip mine off whilst I wait to collect DS and friends from sport event - sorry).

Innersy are the other Amazon knickers often recommended on here.
I love my mid rise ones, and don't think they are much thicker than Sloggi's, but my memory could be failing.

At the risk of being accused of being a gusset troll, can I ask if the Wirapa knickers have a gusset long enough at the front?

I wear Stripe and Stare. They’re lovely and soft, made of modal so breathable and have a decently wide gusset. The high rise shape is actually high rise too. I’m a 14 with a tummy and wear 1X but they go down to XS and up to 4X. Somewhat expensive but they wash really well and last.

I dunno I just notice you can with some and not with others I assumed it was for pads of some kind

I tried Coskefy underwear from Amazon and I think they are a great fit and the fabric isn't as thick as the Wirarpa's.

I buy big giant pants from Tu. I buy the silky Lycra ones, v comfy, wash well and a bargain.

Tu from Sainsbury's. Added advantage, they are cheap

Re the gusset, I just don't want an involuntary waxing every time I have to wear a pad and also to stay in place while I sleep. The Wirarpa are good for that but give me night sweats around my bum.

I love the wirapa pants but also agree with others that Tu have the second best pants - especially big pants.

Have you tried Sloggi Tai? I bought my last ones about a year ago and they haven’t changed since I first started buying them 20 years ago.

Another vote for Sloggi Tai - they fit true to size, ie. not vanity sizing.

I must have a strange shape as the gusset doesn’t even sit in the right place. It is too far back.

OP, if you want something for wearing a pad at night, these might be a good alternative. They work for me when sleeping during the first days of a period, without making me feel too much like a Bridget Jones tribute act.

I ordered in sep too and they arrived in Jan. I was going to order more 🤔

I have bought both the innersy and wirarpa off Amazon after recommendations here.
Both far better than what I could get in Marks and Spencer's but I did find the wirarpa too heavy - they felt solid!! The innersy one were like I wasn't wearing pants - the microfibre ones especially. I'm in the process of replacing all my pants with the innersy ones now.
