I got my highlights done yesterday and a cut and blow dry
I like my hair on the side yet she still puts me a middle partin
I asked for a bouncy blow dry
This is 20 mins when I get home
Would you be happy with this ?
It feels very flat to my head

Looks fine to me, but I guess you wanted big hair?

DustyLee123 · 30/03/2024 07:52

No

RhymesWithTangerine · 30/03/2024 07:53

Yeah, no I wouldn’t think that was very good. Looks like something you could do yourself, easily.

tortiecat · 30/03/2024 07:53

No, it looks like you have lovely hair and your hairdresser could have done a lot more with it.

pictoosh · 30/03/2024 07:55

What were you expecting from a blow dry?

There's not a lot can be done about gravity.

happyasharry · 30/03/2024 07:57

It seems flat to your head and not very smooth on top. Was it better when they did it?

ringalinglung · 30/03/2024 07:59

It's the flat to my head bit I hate
I always like my hair with a bit of bounce on the top
But she kind of stretched my hair around my face and dried it

It doesn't look flat to your head to me, though? Do you mean at the sides? There is some lift at the roots.

MiddleagedBeachbum · 30/03/2024 08:05

Yes that’s awful for half an hour after a blow dry!!
lovely hair and looks fine, but not post professional bouncy blow dry?

Clearinguptheclutter · 30/03/2024 08:06

It’s not amazing but it’s not flat to your head either- you can clearly see some lift, gravity will bring it down though whatever you do

I get this with my hairdresser who I've been going to for more than two years.

I like my hair to not be flat against my face and I use a large round brush to do it myself. No amount of me saying can she put some oomph in to my hair, she never does.

The cut is great, the colour is also fantastic so I just grit my teeth and know that I will have to re blowdry it myself to get it to look exactly how I want it.

Frustrating!

🙄🙄

ringalinglung · 30/03/2024 08:17

She's so good at colour and toning etc so I stick with her
I'm just need keen on her blow dry
But tbh I always prefer my own
If it wasn't part of the colour process I wouldn't pay for a blow dry

Frankly I never like the way hairdressers blow dry my hair except that they can get it shiny and swingy. I now have it cut and coloured at home and do the blow dry myself. You don’t have to pay the salon for a blow dry - you can walk out with wet hair.

TitaniasAss · 30/03/2024 08:27

Well your hair looks nice but it's not a 'bouncy blow dry', therefore not what you asked for. So no, I wouldn't be happy with it.

Loubelle70 · 30/03/2024 08:27

Its fine..you have a lot of weight on your hair... sometimes gravity takes over any styling and products used

xyz111 · 30/03/2024 08:45

I wouldn't care as I'd be washing it the next day or so anyway.

Quitelikeacatslife · 30/03/2024 08:55

My hairdresser is excellent at cut and colour, but always blow dries it flatter than me. I think he does it sometimes to check the cut at the end , particularly round the face . I don't really see it the same as a styled blow dry if you went just for that . I just see it as the end of the process

CatLevelCare · 30/03/2024 09:04

I'm more concerned that you went to the hairdressers in an Oodie 😄

NewYearTimeToChange · 30/03/2024 09:08

I don’t think it looks as though you’ve just had your hair done tbh so no I wouldn’t be happy with that.

pictoosh · 30/03/2024 09:11

I have never liked a hairdresser's blow dry. They all seem to produce this pouffy helmet that doesn't suit me at all. The cut is usually fine but the finish? Crap.
Style it yourself. It will be fine.

ringalinglung · 30/03/2024 09:40

@CatLevelCare ha ha ha that was straight on when I got back 🤣

DSD9472 · 30/03/2024 09:50

If you prefer a side part- why didn't you tell her/remind her when she started drying it?
There looks to be lift at the roots, so doesn't look flat in the pic. Do you mean you wanted some bouncy curls instead?
I'd be more concerned that the roots look much darker than the highlighted parts. I thought highlights started at the roots, and not a few inches down the hair shaft. It might just be the lighting in the pic though.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 30/03/2024 10:43

I’m quite lucky as my hairdresser always dries my hair as I like it, so curly, or bouncy or straight.

I personally think most hairdressers should be able to do most blow dries/styles so no I wouldn’t be happy with this.

moreoutsidespace · 30/03/2024 10:51

No, I’d not like that. It looks like you’ve dried your hair yourself. It doesn’t look like it’s been done professionally.
