PLEASE help me find the perfect every day bra!

For years a I bought 2-packs of Debenhams T-shirt bras for £25 in different colours (black, white, nude, nave, red, pink etc) and now they've gone and changed them to padded/moulded cups! I am a menopausal G cup I DON'T NEED ANY EXTRA PADDING.

The M&S equivalent appears to me a 'minimiser' which is also not what I want...

So non-negotiable requirements as follows:

G cup
Underwired
Non-padded
Good support
T-shirt bra (no seams or lace)
Range of colours
Less than £20 per bra

Surely that's not a lot to ask?

Please, please help me! Thank you in advance kind people of S&B 😀

I think it's the last item on your list which is going to make this a tricky search...

There will likely be plenty of options at bravissimo which would suit but you'd need to double your budget or keep your fingers crossed for your size to be available in the sale.

therealcookiemonster · 27/03/2024 17:21

I am similarly curvy. my life saver has been the tango balconette bras from bravissimo

I would reccommend popping along to one of their stores and having a proper fitting. you might need to make an appointment but they are great at finding the perfect bra for you

therealcookiemonster · 27/03/2024 17:22

sorry just saw your price requirement... bravissimo bras are a little more expensive than £20... but so so worth every penny and they have regular sales as well. so I usually buy a quite a few every time there is a sale.

Namechangerinamanger · 27/03/2024 17:49

I’m a H cup and go to Bravissimo but my go to brand is always fantasie. They just fit great on me, really comfy. No padding. Nice straps. The best bit is that they are not cut high under the arm pits so never dig in. They feel so comfy. I do have a minimiser from marks though. Not really padded but a bit thick. Like a higher middle at front. Really comfy and worth a try. I do size up on the back though.

Justbetweenus · 27/03/2024 18:07

I find these bras super comfy (but I’m a D cup) and they tick your boxes OP.

I really rate brastop for their range, but I think you'll struggle to find something that meets all of those points...

TabithaTwitchel · 27/03/2024 18:26

I've found the PERFECT bra! So so good

Unfortunately it's quite expensive at £55 so doesn't suit your requirements 😔

is that from rigby and peller?

Leopardmatches · 27/03/2024 18:41

I’m here to see what responses you get! I’m after similar to buy for 14 year old DD. She has two properly fitted bras but she really wants a tshirt bra as you described. She’s a 30E (dead skinny, large rib cage for her frame)

by the way, this bra doesn’t fit, does it? I think it’s too big in the band? It’s the JL one mentioned

PLEASE help me find the perfect every day bra!

Do tell

Confuzzleduzzled · 27/03/2024 19:07

If you can get fitted at bravissimo and find the perfect brand, name and size then look on vinted. I’ve got a few panache bras in 32H from there. You can filter for brand new and they will be considerably cheaper than new.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 27/03/2024 19:20

I wish they’d make nice bras for 28/30 backs and F/G cups that mean you don’t have to take out a loan every time you buy them.

TabithaTwitchel · 27/03/2024 20:03

This one! Honestly - the BEST! It's all one piece if that makes sense so no seams and no labels either.

Very soft almost jersey type fabric but still supportive

I've just spotted it gonna discount on it so off to stock up! I bought 3 recently but can never have too many!

TabithaTwitchel · 27/03/2024 20:03

A link may help

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/chantelle-norah-comfort-moulded-bra/p110592639?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

LoompaOompa · 28/03/2024 08:40

Thank you all!

@SausageRoll2020 @therealcookiemonster I did used to buy them from Bravissimo/R&P but having found the perfect bra for a fraction of the cost I'm reluctant to go back to paying £50+. Looks like I might have to though!

@Justbetweenus sadly that one doesn't go up to a G cup...

@Pinkprescription I got all excited but then realised it's got moulded cups which are a no-no for me. It's not just the extra volume, they make my boobs
too hot.

@TabithaTwitchel I will check out that JL one.

Just having a look at Next and they seem to have some that fit the bill: https://www.next.co.uk/g73156s7/q91836#q91836 Does anyone know what the sizing/quality is like at Next?

I've just bought a couple of the ones mentioned higher up from M&S. Really like them and fulfill your requirements. I was a bit unsure about their bras pre buying but was happy with results.

Driverpicksthemusic · 28/03/2024 09:10

If you can pick up a Fantasie Illusion in a sale for the right price, that’s my go to (menopausal 34HH here). It’s smoothing, no padding, very supportive, stretch top of cup and the nude and blush colours disappear under pale clothing. Depends on your preferred shape though, as it is quite wide set and gives a rounded shape.

Fantasie are now my go to brand, as they are consistently well fitting, comfortable and supportive with a lot of styles having the stretch cup top, which is great for menopausal ups and downs, iyswim! There is a 50% off sale on their website at the moment, but I tend to pick them up in sales as most bra shops sell them.

Sheepcup · 28/03/2024 09:14

Aren't t-shirt bras always padded? It's not enough to make you bigger, just to stop nibbles poking through the tshirt. I thought that was the point.

The M&S one mention has padding?

dreamingofsun · 28/03/2024 09:25

@Sheepcup i've just gone to check. I guess it might have a tiny bit, but for me in a good way as it means you get a smooth line and your nipples dont show. so its more than just i plain piece of material but not wadges of padding. its more like 2 layers of material

Yes, that's what I said upthread. A tshirt bra needs a bit of padding.

Londontown12 · 28/03/2024 09:55

Bralettes have been a game changer for me I’m peri menopausal and I was suffering bad with sore breasts !
I bought them from m&s they support without being squashed !
I think a lot of ladies are now wearing these there just so much more comfortable than wearing a normal bra !
I haven’t linked because my breast only 34 b so not big but u can buy them for your size and price requirements John Lewis have a brilliant range x

LoompaOompa · 28/03/2024 09:57

Thanks @dreamingofsun I think I could cope with a double layer of material - that's what my beloved Debenhams ones have. Doesn't totally eliminate the hint of nipple on a cold morning but is generally enough to give a nice smooth shape as there are no seams or lacy bits on the cups.

I like Freya and tend to buy from eBay. I’m a 34G and you can find brand new bras from about £17-30. I like BraForMe and BelleLingerie on eBay.
