Blackheads - i could have paid off my mortgage- it has been my life's work so far

To get rid of them, and to no avail. Have tried a LOT of things, including Mario Badescu power which I got from googling and was rubbish. Weirdly the only time they went away was on a trip to New York years and years ago when I had a horrible rash and had to see a doctor and he gave me tablets for a week, 7 tablets on the first day, 6 on the second etc. My great regret is not noticing what on earth the tablets were. Is there an American make-your-skin-lovely tablet? Anyway, any tips? And WHY WHY does any fake tan make them look like someone's attacked me with a black pen??????????

The last time i looked (about 12 months ago) it wasn't anywhere, even US ebay

Had another look tonight and tadaa . I've already bought a tube!

this is the queen helene website. Since i last had a tube, it looks like they've change their packaging. Always a good way of making sure you don't get an old product!

I always thought the hair reducing thing was a bit wierd, but then i get a hairy top lip so though it would be a pleasent side affect!

binkleandflip · 03/04/2008 09:29

the queen helene stuff is readily available and dirt cheap through wholesale beauty stores such as sally's or salon services if you have one near you. You dont need to be a trader to go in there.

Again, please consider DERMALOGICA. Go and have a dermalogica facial and they will prescribe you the right stuff to deal with your skin and it will be pricey (but no more than the £££ you have already spent on the wrong 'solutions') and I guarantee it will sort your skin out once and for all!!

As for the whiteheads - milia - the needle is the right way to go although you must use it only to pierce the skin that has grown over, not to dig in otherwise it will leave a mark. gentle pierce the skin with a sterile needle and then GENTLY press at either side of the whitehead and ease it out SLOWLY. Then apply witch hazel.

D'ya know - I magaed to go through my life is unblemised skin - no spots (only the odd one on my hairline, which I could cover) My skin was always great no matter how little sleep/how much drink/how namy fags I had.

Then BANG

I hit 26 - blackheads, spots and fine lines galore. My skin is still bad. I think it's payback

Tis depressing.

binkleandflip · 03/04/2008 09:40

the old saying applies - you get the face you deserve...

Only kidding!!

The depressing thing is from age 26 you are formally in posession of 'mature skin' which sounds awful when you're 26 but probaly pretty good when your 60 to think you've got the same skin type as the youngsters I guess!!

How about the Sher System its a whole range not work one product so they work in unison. The range coantains Colloidal silver nature?s own antibiotic.
I had very severe burns and the nurse put silver cream on my legs and I don`t have a mark.

What does your doctor say could you be referred to someone. ? Or just ask for a recommendation if you want to pay privately.

SheikYerbouti · 03/04/2008 12:38

I have definitely gone orf since then.

I used to be a bit of alright in my yoof, but now i am a harridan.

I dio, however, have the skin of a teen (because of the spots )

binkleandflip · 03/04/2008 12:40

you can expect to have teenage skin until the menopause...especially those lovely juicy ones on your chin once a month...blame your ovaries for that one

SheikYerbouti · 03/04/2008 12:41

I have lovely juicy one ALL THE FLIPPING TIME

I just have to face facts: I am officially a minger.

binkleandflip · 03/04/2008 12:43

just looked at your profile.... for 'minger' read 'stunning'

Pillow · 03/04/2008 21:31

I have got the Queen Helene mint julep mask coming!! From Amazon!!

Binkle I have HAD a dermalogica facial. I have used the clay mask. And that daily microexfoliant that everyone raves about (porridge in a bottle). And no joy.

I have invented a tiny vacuum cleaner which has a sort of thin tube on it for sucking out blackheads. The suction is just enough to suck them out but not strong enough to damage the pore. It is remarkably effective...

or would be if I'd actually patented it and found a company that would make it

Shitemum · 03/04/2008 21:40

...and now some bastard will steal my idea and make a fortune...bah!

Do you think they've read this thread? They mention lots of things that have been posted here:

shreddies · 05/04/2008 17:54

Lol Pillow, I've ordered that mint julep mask too. Here's hoping...

woodenchair · 09/04/2008 09:29

Pillow and shredies, has your mask arrived yet?

Got mine on Friday, and stuck it straight on! didn't notice too much difference straight away, but on sat my nose was very smooth and the little buggers were much smaller. I'd forgotten how good it was.

shreddies · 09/04/2008 21:23

Ooh no, I was in Sally (that odd sort of wholesale place) over the weekend and they had it there, but I'm still waiting for mine. I did buy that clear and control moisturiser though and that seems to have made some sort of difference I think.
