Thoughts on wedding guest dress

I am going to a wedding at the beginning of May and would like your thoughts on this dress. I've looked at it so much I've lost any perspective.

The couple are my boyfriend's close friends however I will be meeting a lot of people for the first time so I want to make a good impression. I don't want to be too extra or anything.

What are your thoughts on this? Is it boring/unflattering? I've ordered low nudes heels and a nude clutch bag. A friend said it looks a bit winter weddingy.

Thank you everyone I feel a lot better about it now that MN are saying it's suitable for the occassion as you've no skin in the game! The shoes and bag are arriving in the next few days so hopefully it will all come together

I think it looks nice on you and suits your colouring. Definitely not extra.

I really like it and it looks lovely on you. The floral pattern is a “spring summer wedding thing” but it’s really interesting- almost like a very dense Victorian decoupage effect, which makes it somehow modern! I’d be eyeing it up and thinking you had great interesting taste without looking weird or tryhard fashiony!

I think it suits you really well, but I think I'd feel a bit casual in it at a wedding. The material looks more like a daywear type dress maybe?

But you do suit it and with heels etc you could dress it up.

What a pretty dress!

Right I'm back. Unfortunately that dress (Ted baker by the way) has something wrong with the zip at the back and it buckles out in two different places. I tried on the same dress today at the store and they all do it! I'm gutted. Anyway I have a new contender and I couldn't resist this blazer but I don't think it goes even though it feels soooo lovely on. The shoes and the bag are what I ordered to match the ted baker dress, do they go?

The blazer is great, but not with that dress. It makes it look too ‘worky’.

I love the first one - is the zip really noticeable?

for me the second one isn’t dressy enough for a wedding even tho it’s lovely on you & you’ve a fab figure.
the blazer dresses it down even more & I think the shoes don’t really go. Sorry!
