Like a TangleTeaser but not hollow?

DCs and I like to use a TangleTeaser in the shower while we wash/condition our hair. But because they're hollow they fill up with water which drives me bonkers. I bought a WetBrush which I saw recommended here, but it doesn't cut through tangles anything like as well, and the bristles are now all bent.

Can anyone suggest a brand that's as effective as a TT but won't fill with water?

This one is for use in the shower and doesn't absorb water

Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Detangler Hairbrush | For Wet & Dry Hair | Detangles All Hair Types | Reduces Breakage, Eliminates Knots | Two-Tiered Teeth & Comfortable Handle | Millennial Pink https://amzn.eu/d/6mS0yIA

My hairdresser who specialises in curly hair uses and recommends this: ST PROFESSIONAL Detangling Brush... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09JC5SFWB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I bought one and prefer it over my ye olde faithful TT.

Janod brushes are amazing, like a tangle teaser but a normal handle so you could keep it in the shower

Thanks but I think we've got that one, it's still hollow inside.

Thanks, that looks worth a try for the price.

There was such a thing on Dragons' Den recently. It's like a flat, flexible tangleteaser. It's shaped like a manta ray so it's called Manta.

DisforDarkChocolate · 05/02/2024 12:25

I have a Manta brush and it's fantastic, much better than a tangle teaser. I've had mine about 4 years and it's still going strong.

I bought one like this from my hairdressers. It's the best one I've used.

That one looks too much like the Wet brush which isn't really up to the job. This is how it looks after a few weeks.

We have a Wetbrush - you just push the pad and excess water comes out. It's the sturdiest we've found (thick hair!).

Floralnomad · 05/02/2024 12:37

The Manta brushes are excellent I’ve had mine for a few years and it’s really good at detangling without pulling your hair out .

IlsSortLaPlupartAuNuitMostly · 05/02/2024 12:53

Manta does look good..as it should at that price. I'll consider. I don't want a conventional hairbrush with a pad, I want a lightweight plastic job I can leave in the shower.

I guess I'll either shell out for the Manta or go for the promising-looking Amazon cheapy upthread. Thanks all.

Second the Denman shower and massage brush. Wouldnt be without it esepcially for combing conditioner through your hair

sparkysdream · 05/02/2024 13:23

There is a tangle teezer especially for the bath/ shower https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tangle-Teezer-Splash-Hairbrush-Shrimp/dp/B0093JZ47S/ref=sr_1_10?crid=2W8K1WN3GOKCY&keywords=shower%2Btangle%2Bteezer&qid=1707139264&s=beauty&sprefix=Shower%2Btangle%2Cbeauty%2C94&sr=1-10&th=1. It’s open on the inside, like a cylinder so nowhere for water to stick

Bingo! Boots stocks about seventy different styles and colours of TTs but not this one. Thankyou.

Denman shower and massage brush looks good and cheap but lots of the reviews say the handle keeps falling off.

Worth noting this does still say it's hollow though!

I don't mind it being a big tube that the water runs through. I just don't want water to sit in it. I want to see one in person really but nowhere seems to stock it.
John Lewis have this though which is probably worth a try.

We have both and the one the pp posted is nothing like the photo you posted - it is brilliant! And we had tried everything.
