Title says it all. I want to find clothing brands with this sort of aesthetic but have no clue what to look for!

The style is called Lagenlook

RichardsGear · 20/01/2024 09:32

As pp said, Forgotten Tribes sell a lot of this sort of look.

ConstitutionHill · 20/01/2024 09:34

Isn't it the "knitted lentils" look?

I'd call it 'quite horrific'.

Stepping around the wannabee standups, and regardless of whether or not the 'Monty Don thread' suggestions are kindly meant, I think it's worth checking out if you haven't seen it - lots of brands at a range of price points.

I wouldn't call it Lagenlook.

If Monty Don was a woman.... | Mumsnet

Where would he shop? I really want some lovely cotton or linen stuff, in my mind I see a loose fitting linen jumpsuit with scrappy straps and a sid...

Why are you even commenting? I don't give two shits whether you think its horrific.

It was kindly meant! I think my post came just before the mean ones so inadvertently looked like part of them. Thank you for the link Flowers

My apologies @Carpooler!

Love the Monty Don thread!

I was also going to say Forgotten Tribes or Poetry

Floisme · 20/01/2024 16:05

By the way the reason I said I wouldn't call it 'lagenlook' is because that, to me, involves a lot more layers and a mix of textures. But I'm possibly being too purist and you might find that googling the word will bring up some more ideas.

MrsTwatInAHat · 20/01/2024 16:14

Definitely Plumo. Expensive but they have good sales, and they sell a variety of brands that you can sometimes find elsewhere too, so it’s a good starting point to find shops you like. You might also like Biscuit - also a boutique rather than a brand.

Agree with PPs, it’s like Lagenlook but not quite. For shops, try American Vintage, Free People, Arket and Weekday too.

Lagenlook Light? 😄

Yeah and sorry I'm being far too pedantic Blush

SameToo · 20/01/2024 17:43

@Leosaysrelax do you know where the quilted looking ones you posted in the pic are from?

TheDandyLion · 20/01/2024 17:50

Walker and Walker

Leosaysrelax · 20/01/2024 20:26

@SameToo sadly not but Pinterest brought up a similar pair from free people but they're about £200 💰💰💰

It's not a joke as in taking the piss. It just reminded me of the type of clothes that some of us wore in 6th form in 1991 when we thought we were arty students, particularly the one with the scarf. I like the style!

I'm 50 now and definitely of an age where things I wore in my youth have come right round and in fashion again. I remember my mum saying that to me when I was young.

Leosaysrelax · 26/01/2024 21:00

Ah I see, that makes sense now :)
