I really adore the cabbages and roses stuff, but if those models are 5'11 then most of it would bury me alive. Anyone have experience with them?
Super expensive, remind me of a more whimsical, heritage kinda Margaret Howell.
I've bought two dresses from C and R over the years.
I'm a plump, short person.
The first was my favourite dress ever. It was a sleeveless, ankle-length dress. I loved it. Loved it.
I bought a second dress and thought it swamped me, so returned it.
I made the mistake of showing a friend a picture of a dress I was thinking of buying and she completely mocked me. I mean, as you can see, the clothing isn't really fashion-y - but that's as much a positive as a negative.
Anyway, that put me off for a long time.
And then I remembered that loads of people complimented the first dress. They really did. I remember one person saying, 'I really wish I was wearing what you're wearing right now. It's just so perfect.'
And I knew what she meant. It was a hot, sunny day and the dress was cool and easy to wear and just exuded a happy, summer feeling.
(Yes, I know. But I loved that dress.)
I'm thinking about buying a third. But I'm prepared to do some trying-on first.
(And, yes, I know it's not very MN to be put off by other people's opinions. But, there we go ...)
I think you do have to try the clothes on.
