Even if you don’t own one, please rate!

I don’t own this but I have been looking at it. The fact it’s navy put me off so I bought the black wool cape/wrap from this season to wear with my own black coat to get a similar style. Go for it!

TurquoiseTurtoise · 12/01/2024 20:04

I love navy so I might be alright!

@TurquoiseTurtoise then definitely buy it, it’s a lovely style

Doggymummar · 12/01/2024 20:46

I love it. But I'm not size 8and 23 so I'll never wear it.

Whatineed · 12/01/2024 20:50

23? Cos is H&Ms older, grown up sister.

WilhelminaBunter · 12/01/2024 20:53

I don't own it and wouldn't suit it, but I think it's lovely.

lenalemonade · 12/01/2024 21:10

I don't own it but think it looks shapeless and ugly .
Rainsisters are my coats of choice x

Thank you - beautiful style!
Doesn’t suit my current day to day tomboy outfits but I already saw one for special occasions when I go for a more romantic look

Cos has some nice fabrics. I have a few dresses. I ordered a Duffel coat a few years ago but sent it back because it was so stiff and rigid 😂I think the one you link has a lot of fabric and the flapping around would annoy me but I bed the fabrics lovely.

totalnamechanger · 12/01/2024 21:43

I’d find a navy pinstripe coat too restrictive- and I like both navy and pinstripes. You’d possibly have to go v neutral/ plain with other clothes and take a cue from the model picture and rely on standout accessories. If you are quite tall, it could look striking. I don’t think age is an issue with the coat at all, I can see any age except teenagers wearing it.

I don’t love scarf coats although I love scarves and coats - possibly because I love both separately. Like a PP there’s too much fabric for me in this one.

I’m a big fan of Cos though and if I ever get asked what I’m wearing is from, it’s almost always Cos. Their recent coats have been very oversized - so watch out for that.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 12/01/2024 21:48

I think the belt and the oversized scarf together are too much. It would look better with just one of them.

I don't like the fact there seems to be a belt loop at the middle of the back.

Anyone has this COS coat? Please leave your review here.

Well you could wear this if you were size 8 and 23 and I'm sure Cos would be happy to sell it to you but that isn't Cos' targeted market.

Needesppressonow · 12/01/2024 21:59

I think it’s amazing, go for it

Christmasnutcracker · 12/01/2024 22:49

I bought the short version of this.

I like it but......although its new, I rarely reach for it.

I like the scarf part but find the coat itself a bit shapeless. Most of my wardrobe is Cos so am well used to the style but the short version of this coat looks too big rather than oversized. The scarf is annoying unless its cold and I have worn it both around my neck (but makeup rubs off on it) and hanging down. I think its easier to wear hanging down which I didn't think would be the case. its a regret purchase for me.

I think the belt on the long version of the coat will definitely help to give it more shape (provide you have a waist). Belted coats look like dressing gowns on me unfortunately.

I like the coat. Its functional, the scarf adds to it. It isn't a standout coat but its nicer than many. I'd prefer if the scarf was detachable.

How old do you think the model is? I would say she is 18 to 23.im 55and wear cos so am aware of their usual demographic this model is not it

SleepPrettyDarling · 12/01/2024 22:55

I looked at it when browsing for a coat in the sales. There’s too much material in it for me. I really like Cos as a brand, but this one looks a bit too fussy to be truly versatile.

Edited

Is it warm?
This one's scarf is detachable apparently: The blanket-style scarf can be wrapped effortlessly around your shoulders or detached to alter the silhouette

I love scarfs so maybe I can wear with other outfits

If I don't like I will return straight away, I just don't have time and patience to physically shop in physical shops anymore

What do you mean by stand out coat?

yep, this is me - my clothes are plain specially the cold weather ones

OP posts:
Christmasnutcracker · 12/01/2024 23:23

Saying its not a stand out coat, I meant literally that. It doesn't stand among other coats ie it doesn't look especially good.

The detachable scarf is more versatile than the one I have as it doesn't come off. Check what the coat looks like without the scarf because the neckline might look like there is something missing when the scarf is detached?

I have a collarless coat and have to wear a scarf with it or a jumper with a high neck or it looks too bare.

Edited as I forgot to answer about its warmth. My coat is wool, it isn't thick but its warm enough for me. Its the right type of coat to wear when shopping and going in and out of shops as it isn't too heavy.

HarpyRampant · 12/01/2024 23:28

I tried it on, and I love Cos and own a lot of Cos clothes, but it was too rigid and bulky. I felt like a lagging jacket.

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 13/01/2024 07:41

I LOVE Cos but they’ve stopped lining some of their coats and this one doesn’t look lined. Thats a hard no for me. Memories of my mother telling me that unlined wool coats/slirts/dresses will end up “seated” I.e. out of shape around the bum from sitting. I’m proper sad about this

dottiedodah · 13/01/2024 09:20

Its a bit too much material I think . Not keen .

TurquoiseTurtoise · 13/01/2024 09:52

I will update everyone once it finally arrives - it is late 😭
