Do any of those viral bodyshapers actually work?

You know the type - some overly excited girl opens a package containing what looks like a toddlers swimsuit, only to put it on and lose 3 dress sizes?!

I look up all the companies that catch my eye on Insta etc, on Trustpilot, to no avail almost every time, so I think a lot of them are probably scams, but wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

Or do I need to bite the bullet and go down the Spanx/Skims route?

I never understand why there isn't thigh bulges.

Even on the larger ladies, you put a teeny tiny stretch tight body on, it's going to be tight around the knicker line, surely? Where's the cutting in on the thighs?

I don't understand!

Ive tried a couple after the Instagram reels wore me down and they work fine, nothing special. As an every day solution that is still comfortable and allows you to breathe, I wear the M&S control briefs - satin skirts and dresses, jeans, leggings everything fits so much better when I have these on.

I purchased a corset from Rigby and Peller (sp) - quite pleased with the front view (although I knew sitting down would be difficult. . .). However, the back was disconcerting. The back fat spilling out the top made it look like I'd developed a second arse.

Just to report back. I got my bodysuit from skims. It’s surprisingly comfortable and I will use it. It does smooth everything out and improve the look of any slightly tight trousers or skirts by reducing the muffin top. But I’m not suddenly fitting into jeans much smaller than usual or anything like on the ads.

I have 2 corsets (one underbust, one overbust) for special occasions out, which do not involve a big dinner! Although l can sit in them. They hold me in (and out!) in the right places, although l’m able to sit down in them.

A well fitted correctly laced corset should not give you that effect at the back. Such a pity because a R&P corset is not cheap.

For a more forgiving effect you might be better off with a basque. Reccomend Pour Moi.
