I’m still looking at the boden gold swimsuit here. It’s slightly too big I think but i might risk it

Just bought a Boss winter coat £115 should have been £380.
It's monochrome and should see me through a couple of winters

TooDyed · 28/12/2023 13:53

Sadly nothing, I’m broke 🤣

TooDyed · 28/12/2023 13:53

But I do love. Bargain, so if you can get shopping, and enjoy it

Elevenutionary · 28/12/2023 14:05

This dress for a summer wedding that I can’t say no to. It hasn’t arrived yet. It may not be right. A very fancy wedding so I hope it’s an ok dress.

Cyclingmummy1 · 28/12/2023 14:06

@Goldypants yes, got one of his school suits there, really nice fit.

Grumblebees · 28/12/2023 14:18

I need a new pair of plain white trainers (not canvas) and a separate pair of trainers I can wear with gym leggings (not that I go to the gym but want to start working out at home more regularly and if I get dressed for it before the school run I'm more inclined to do it when I get home!). Ideally no more than £30 each - anyone spotted anything they can recommend? TKMaxx annoyingly don't have much online in my size (4).

A long white dress! Reformation usually have multiple colour ways

2 x shock absorber ultimate run bras, less than half price. They seem have become non existent in the last couple of years, but sports direct have them actually in my size, which is also rare.

I'm on the hunt for a pair of dark grey/ faded black skinny high rise jeans too. My beloved ones have holes near my holes.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 28/12/2023 14:57

Nothing. Until someone suggested a travel tote which I couldn't resist. It was £100+ but about £80 in the sale but out of stock. Found it on another site and with new customer discount I got it for £69. Turns out I really wanted that bag (that I didn't know existed two hours ago 😂)!

I absolutely love these but £150 still feels like an extravagance on dungarees.

Edited

I know.
I love one of their dresses but even in the sale it’s far more than I’d ever usually spend on a dress. Still full price on Brora site but reduced on JL.

Hiddenpeople · 28/12/2023 15:15

I got these. Trying not to be impulsive, I don’t need anything else. Although always want new earrings and runners…

I bought this on a whim today…

https://www.boots.com/no7-the-ultimate-skincare-collection-10329879

I’m nearly 40 and have never had a skin care routine. This felt like a good purchase and I’m excited to use it 😀

No7 has always been out of y price range so this feels like a good deal!… The bottles are a good size 😀

I know some No7 products are really good skincare wise but as you mention prices can be a little steep on a normal (not mumsnet) budget.

Teo things I would emphasise, usually you don’t need the amount of products you see, but maybe 4-5 max.
Usually a good cleanser, 1-2 serums (maybe hydration, or vit C, or whatever) to target specific points in your skin and a very good moisturiser.
I would then add maybe 1 product that you use every now and then (say once or twice weekly) like a peel or scrub or the like if you get the idea.

I would wholeheartedly recommend The Ordinary. Their products are fantastic and are what I would call extremely cheap for what they are.
Then when they run sales they’re crazy cheap.

the bottles are simple, no big marketing or design budgets and price goes towards the ingredients.

Ha, I bought the same set, on a whim too.

I usually just use the Nivea Creme (the greasy stuff in the blue tub) on my face, but want to get into a proper skincare routine to see if I can make my skin look less dull, so thought this set would be a good place to start. Can't wait to try it.

Hiddenpeople · 28/12/2023 15:36

Dh bought me the no. 7 set for Christmas but took it back when I told him (nicely) it’s not great for my sensitive skin. La roche posay and Vichy are affordable and much better imo.

lovemelongtime · 28/12/2023 15:37

M&S streaky bacon, £1.36 - bargain !

Ponks · 28/12/2023 15:47

Reiss trousers, not sure on the sizing with Reiss so may be going straight back 😊

Britpopbaby · 28/12/2023 16:00

@SecondHandFurniture Those are the Converse that I want. Did you get them from the Converse website?

Kittybythelighthouse · 28/12/2023 16:08

@biedrona I’ve been using an led mask for two years. I didn’t use it for a month because my old one broke and I hadn’t yet bought a new one. I absolutely noticed the difference.

SparkyBlue · 28/12/2023 16:09

Some nice loafers that were over €100 down to €35 and a cardigan and cords from asos that were really cheap but I reckon will be worn to death as both arrived today and are very flattering. Lots of stuff for DD age 11 from Zara next, H&M and a dress for her from Boden which is the most flattering thing ever on her. She has just started her periods so her shape is changing so clothes and sizing can be tricky right now. I also bought the Roka bags from the lucky dip offer for myself.

Well I am not a small or petite girl by any chance, but let’s be honest, clothes are made in all sizes but certain styles don’t suit certain body types. That swimsuit would look awful on a bigger woman, if you still want to wear it fine but that is the reality. Similarly some dresses don’t look good on skinny people as it needs someone with a big bust or curves, it is made in smaller sizes but just doesn’t suit. Nothing wrong in stating facts. I think everyone strives to look nice in clothes, so no point wearing something just bcoz it is in fashion but looking daft in it! also if you bothered reading it the OP returned it as it didn’t suit.

hby9628 · 28/12/2023 16:38

I really want these but DH & I have promised no sale spending as we've got a hol to pay for by mid March. Very upsetting

www.fairfaxandfavor.com/products/the-olympia-heeled-boot-black-suede

I did however buy a Rebecca Minkoff bag in the sale down to £100 delivered before our agreement. I've been eyeing this particular bag up for over 12 months & it was with some money I got as a gift so vaguely justified.

whiteshutters · 28/12/2023 16:46

I went to look at the M and S sale yesterday and nothing much there that is not already sold out so I have ordered two full price cashmeres and a reduced blazer. Also waiting on my Roka lucky dip.
