What colour tights & shoes with navy dress?

I got a lovely navy dress for Christmas. I think navy tights and shoes will be a bit blah with it. I've purple/aubergine tights and loafers that will work in winter and silver shoes for bare legged summer wear, but any ideas for other colours?

i have only seen this ‘no black and navy’ thing on mumsnet. In real life everyone wears black and navy together and it looks fine at worst and chic at best, depending on the whole outfit

@PuneorPlayonWords a yep, grey tights and black lightly biker boots is how I'd wear a similar dress I have.
