Knee high boots with a heel, 70s style

I love these R&B ones but they're very expensive, so hopefully can find a cheaper version. I love this style of boot, does anyone know where I can get a decent pair for under £250? Any idea how to style them?

Ebay or Vinted

I actually looked at these, but I don't know how comfortable they look..

Oh they are lovely. I'd wear them under flared jeans as homage to the 70s, with skinny jeans or with a midi / below knee dress.

What about the R&B Twiggy boots? They’re reduced to £145 in the sale. I think they’re very 1970’s style.

Cyclingmummy1 · 21/12/2023 20:56

They are expensive, but I've had my R&B boots for over 10 years and three people commented how lovely they were last week. You can have them soled and heeled by R&B and they come back like new.

I love those Jones' ones.

That's good to know. Longevity is important

Yes the brown are nicer

Personally I think the Jones have a nicer shape

bellac11 · 21/12/2023 21:26

And both of them have a 7cm heel they say

The to platform is lower on the jones ones from looking at the pic, which makes me think they'd feel higher. I want to be able to wear them all the time, not just occasionally. I think I'll order them and give them a try, if they're no good I can send them back!

I’ve just got these and love them, the Belmont may be more 70s though.

I have these and they are really lovely. Currently a bargain at £49.99. N they’re tan though - I can’t tell if the ones you like a slightly browner? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0BPYN2BPY?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I haven’t worn them out yet but I’ve been wearing them around the house and they seem very comfy.

Yes I wondered about that

Personally I like the Jones ones sole better, on the Russell and Bromley ones, they stick out round the edges which I dont like, but which are 70s authentic

I dont know if you were a 70s child, but shoe souls on funky trendy clumpy shoes at the time did stick out round the edges. I remember people treading on the edge by mistake and my foot getting stuck a number of times.

willsandnoodle · 22/12/2023 09:54

@bellac11 I'm not a 70s child, so I haven't experienced them first hand. Are you saying you had some and people stood on them? That's definitely not something I'd considered!

Yes, by mistake, if someone is standing close to you, their shoe edge would overlap on your shoe edge and then I'd go flying when I tried to walk away!!!!

I was at school, Im sure these things didnt happen to grown ups!!!

irisgg7 · 22/12/2023 10:18

I would splurge on the r&B, good boots are such a great investment. You will always regret buying a cheaper pair, for the sake of £50 or so.

Cost per wear for coats and boots!!
