Which Westfield London is better?

If you were taking 2 teen daughters shopping and lived equal distance between the two, which would you choose?

Shepard's bush for me.

Stratford is pretty unpleasant and low brow comparatively. (Sorry Stratford!)

I find it the same. I've not been to Shepherds Bush but I find Stratford utterly depressing

Kittybelle123 · 21/12/2023 13:28

Hands down Shepherds Bush.

Mum to two DDs (17 and almost 15), we are London based and have experienced both - they won't go near Stratford.

Suzi7979 · 21/12/2023 13:52

Shepherd Bush - much nicer and relaxed.

Gooseysgirl · 21/12/2023 13:58

Neither 😆 But if I had to choose, it would be Stratford because you can take shortcuts through the car parks to avoid the mall when it gets busy. I was at Shepherds Bush a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning and it was the seventh circle of hell... won't be going back anytime soon!

Are those the only options?

They’re both ghastly! Stratford more so.

How about Spitalfields or Seven Dials?

I agree with this. I do go to Westfield but only out of necessity (if I need something and don't want to go into central London). I love shopping but I do find Westfield a pretty soul destroying experience.
Somewhere like Covent Garden has loads of big name shops, some cool smaller shops, and lots of lovely places for lunch/cake. Might be more of a fun day out for all of you.

SB - though both are hell unless you are a teenage girl. Agree with the PP saying to get there before opening time.

Never been to the SB one, but Stratford is a shit hole IMO and was utterly rammed when I was there on Sunday.

Probably because West Ham were playing at home

they are this Saturday as well if anyone is interested 😂 ⚒️

Shepherds Bush is more chilled but in reply to an earlier comment there are loads of empty shops there as well since Covid, which is a bit sad.

TheOGCCL · 21/12/2023 23:46

I live between them and prefer Shepherds Bush.

White City

beguilingeyes · 22/12/2023 07:54

Just had a thought. The Stratford one has a very good TK Maxx. I've bought Massimo Duttti and Hobbs coats in there, and Allbirds shoes for £18

Perfectlystill · 22/12/2023 07:56

I wouldn't set foot in Stratford.

beguilingeyes · 22/12/2023 10:34

Blimey, that's a bit extreme.

Bloodybloodtest · 22/12/2023 10:47

I work near the Stratford one and live near the Shepherds Bush one. Stratford is more manageable in size but feels more downmarket. It was absolutely packed yesterday. I prefer Shepherds Bush although it is much further to walk between the shops. Food options are better too.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 22/12/2023 11:15

My DC's 15 and 13 adore Stratford.

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 22/12/2023 15:00

Given OP is very clear she is asking about Westfield and wants to visit Sephora as well as other specific shops, suggestions of Covent Garden and Spitalfields are pointless and redundant!

I live between both although Stratford is nearer. When it first opened, I went to SB a few times but there are too many shops I just wasn't interested in and the mall is far larger. I like Stratford because it's smaller and easier to navigate. The majority of shops I want are on the upper floors, when tend to be not only quieter in terms of footfall, but the top floor has way more light. Parts of the second floor can be avoided by walking outside and coming back into Westfield at the John Lewis end.

For a long time, I avoided both and walked into the West End. Now though, Stratford has become quite handy. In fact, was just there this morning and did everything I needed to do within a hour.

AngeloMysterioso · 22/12/2023 18:56

Shepherds Bush by a MILE. Stratford is way too cramped, stealy and stabby. I was pickpocketed there whilst changing my then 5 week old baby’s nappy and haven’t gone back since.

These are new TK Maxx in Shepherds Bush

You can cut through the car park at Westfield Shepherd's Bush too! Have done it many a time when it all got too peopley for me...
