Too white for a wedding guest dress?

It’s not lacey or floaty, but it is basically white with flowers. Would you give this dress a swerve for a wedding? It’s in Greece in the summer, so I might be better off picking something looser anyway. But I like this a lot, it’s a good shape for me, and it’s reduced - can’t resist a bargain!

Too white.

sprigatito · 10/12/2023 13:25

It's too white I think (and it's gopping)

Daisies12 · 10/12/2023 13:26

Too white, and fabric looks like it would be very hot

NorthernSpirit · 10/12/2023 13:30

Too white and at 89% polyester really not suitable for a wedding in a hot climate!

WashItTomorrow · 10/12/2023 13:41

Not the least bit suitable.

thedamnseason · 10/12/2023 13:56

Wrong for all the reasons above.

Theduchy · 10/12/2023 13:57

Too white

lesdeluges · 10/12/2023 13:59

Lovely dress, not suitable for a wedding unless you want to annoy the Bride, and it will be far too warm to wear in Greece in Summer too.

So don't be a dick and get something cooler and not white. 😊

minipie · 10/12/2023 14:00

I‘m not usually fussed about white based guest outfits as long as they don’t look too bridal, but I think you have to be more careful about white dresses for destination weddings as the bride might easily choose a short or more casual dress.

I also think you will be horribly sweaty in that fabric.

duttypink · 10/12/2023 14:00

This looks like a dress a bride might wear for a low key civil wedding

FloweryName · 10/12/2023 14:01

Yes, too white.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 10/12/2023 16:46

Why not get it in the blue? It's much nicer.

Saxendi · 10/12/2023 17:20

Think it looks very formal and in polyester would be very uncomfortable to wear in the heat.
Something in a light cotton voile or silk would be much better.

Salacia · 10/12/2023 17:39

Too white - the print is very muted so it won’t pop in photos, in group shots you’ll look like a pillar of white and pull focus. Plus as others have said it doesn’t look comfortable to wear in the summer in Greece!

housethatbuiltme · 10/12/2023 18:25

Its quite obviously too white... why even look for white at all?

tobee · 10/12/2023 18:26

No one in rl cares if it's too white.

AHFaemale · 10/12/2023 18:28

The colour doesn't matter but it's not a very nice dress; sorry.

Payakan · 10/12/2023 18:31

Don't risk it. Buy the dress, bring it to Greece, and wear it any day but on weeding day.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/12/2023 18:35

Yes too white, look for a dress in any other colour and you will be fine.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 10/12/2023 19:07

If you like it buy it for a day at the races not a wedding

VenusClapTrap · 10/12/2023 19:09

Righto. That’s pretty unanimous then!

MariMari2023 · 10/12/2023 19:11

If you have to ask.... don't wear it. That's the rule I stick by :)

laclochette · 10/12/2023 19:42

I also wouldn't wear polyester to a hot country wedding

Mrsgreen100 · 10/12/2023 19:51

Why on earth would you even think of any white for a wedding
nuts

BitOutOfPractice · 10/12/2023 19:57

It’s a beautiful dress op. But yes, too white for a wedding.
