Are they as lovely as they look?

What are the sizes like? I've ordered a 7 which is a 40/41, but my feet are a 7.5/8 - they didn't have an 8.

I have some and have to say the are the most comfortable wellies I've ever trudged in.

I always go a size bigger because I wear thickish socks with them and so need to be able to accomadate the extra width.

Flight · 14/03/2008 07:54

Ah. Many thanks Tnogue.

I might have to send them back and get an 8 somewhere else then...!

The shop told me they make them big to accomodate thick socks anyway, but well, we'll see...

Try them and see.

I think my feet have spread a little with age, so perhaps I'm really a 6 and not a 5 anymore.

Is it possible that you can get middle-aged spread in your feet?

They're great. I'm a 5 and my wellies are size 3, so I do think they make em big

i have no need for any wellies, beyond my 15 quid b&q ones, as worn once a year.
but i want those wellies

Flight · 14/03/2008 09:59

Ooh this took off!

Lapin, thanks so much for the links. I have paid £12.99 plus postage, from an ebay seller - they are seconds but I won;'t use them an awful lot so that's Ok

Will try the 7 and see.
It's a man's boot I ordered so I think they come up a bit larger, possibly - here's hoping!

Off to browse...

i want these boots very much but never ever will be able afford them

ska · 14/03/2008 10:19

or may be these

Flight · 14/03/2008 13:56

Ooh they arrived already!

I got the Argyll full knee ones, they are blokes' really - anyway they are fine! I'm only wearing thin socks over thick tights, but they are fine.

However I have ordered another pair in the samemodel but ladies version, in an 8 - they are apparently slimmer and lighter, and I have very skinny calves (yuk) so might be better...will let you know!

I'm well chuffed with my £12.99 bargain...they only have a bit of scuffing to the rubber, no problem at all really

Oh listen to voice of experience Lapin with her "you can't have a new one" - you've just admitted to owning PINK WELLIES, you bloody townie ponce.

Flight - ladies Hunters will be much better fitting, none of that flapping business. And yes they are much lighter. Occasionally I have to wear DHs boots and it's like having concrete blocks on my feet (not good given the mud in these parts).

Smurfs · 14/03/2008 14:32

Love my Hunters soooo much I want to be buried in them

I have a Barbour and made DH use it to walk the black labrador dog until it was suitably battered

spamm · 14/03/2008 15:10

LL - I saw you mention you were moving to Wiltshire - where? May be closer to me and I can lend you a dog to go with the wellies.

Volkl · 14/03/2008 15:12

I've always worn hunters... in fact when i was at junior school i was so proud that everyone had normal green wellies and mine were green hunter wellies!

Perhaps thats a bit sad.. but i love mine, they are so comfy!

Know it well - is your dh going to the college?

Too far for the dog - he would be too puzzled about why he was travelling so far for a walk
