Dull face. Jones Broad miracle balm. Shall I try it?

Hi! Has anyone tried it? Does it really make your skin look healthy and glowing?

I have dryish skin. Lacks any glow and looks really tired at the moment. Very depressing. Plus blemishes that I'm fighting now with antibiotics.

So this ad keeps popping up. And I was thinking of trying it. Is it sticky? Does it ruin clothes? Does it run down (like Vaseline) and makes you want to wipe your face?

Would you recommend anything else instead? I want to look attractive again

Not broad. Sorry about the typo. I mean this one

I bought a sample from eBay. It’s nice but I wouldn’t buy a full sized one.

SausageAndEggSandwich · 30/11/2023 10:48

Have you tried a vitamin c serum? I just use the cheap one from Simple and it's great. It's often on offer in superdrug. The hyaluronic and vitamin b one is nice too

I found LRP Duo really helpful for blemishes but if you're on ABs for that it might be a bit beyond.

OhGoOnThenIfYouInsist · 30/11/2023 10:48

I'm tempted to buy as adverts keep appearing on my FB feed
It's quite expensive so interested in comments

bobaforever · 30/11/2023 11:30

I really want to try this shade but am also dubious spending so much without trying it out on my skin. I'd also like to hear from people who have used it!

Miracle Balm

A versatile, light-reflecting superproduct. The secret of no-makeup makeup.

It's just a tinted waxy cosmetic so really not going to work miracles OP. It looks perfectly nice over skin that's already healthy, but when my skin's a bit dry and flaky it just sits on top of that. Sort your health and skincare out first and try to be patient. Lots of water and barrier repair moisturisers: Dr Jart Ceramidin or CeraVe ranges are great.

NinNinJin · 30/11/2023 12:31

@OnlyCorrect thanks. Any specific products that you like?

I'd go for skincare rather than a makeup product. A exfoliator a moisturising eye cream and a moisturiser for dry skin.

NinNinJin · 30/11/2023 12:57

@youveturnedupwelldone any recommendations?
I have tried ordinary and La Roche but no miracles. Have some Weleda too.

Life has been a bit difficult recently. Stress, not much sleep, not much fresh air. Really don't look my best.

I know I need a good routine but also wanted a quick fix not to be scared to look in the mirror

It’s more or less just tinted Vaseline.

I’d second slapping on some Vitamin C serum (I like the Geek & Gorgeous brand) in the mornings. And mixing some Elf Halo Glow filter (a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Filter) in with your foundation/cc cream.

squeekychicken · 30/11/2023 13:03

I have it. Not used it much. I have naturally rosy cheeks and wanted something to tone it down (which I said during the colour match) but the colour they sent was red/brown tone. I do like the consistency. It's very hydrating but you can feel it on your skin (a bit sticky).

squeekychicken · 30/11/2023 13:04

I love the vitamin c serum from no.7 and the future renew serum. Instantly plumps and hydrates skin.

Purplecatshopaholic · 30/11/2023 13:06

Make up that’s also skin care works better I find - love eborian cc cream myself.

bobaforever · 30/11/2023 13:09

I use the cerave facewash and moisturiser and have found that my skin has really improved

OneFrenchEgg · 30/11/2023 13:15

Charlotte tilbury wonder glow is amazing as a quick fix

NinNinJin · 30/11/2023 13:19

@Purplecatshopaholic love it too! Got two 40ml on Black Friday
Actually cannot leave the house without it

NinNinJin · 30/11/2023 13:22

@squeekychicken so I guess it won't work on top of foundation and def nowhere near the powder. Right? Sort of contradicts the idea...

Oh I suppose I just like the way those gorgeous models look with the healthy and glowy skin and natural blush 😬🙈 def not me atm

Torganer · 30/11/2023 13:22

I have the natural one, which is just like using Vaseline, and the slightly tinted one which seems to make no difference. It’s quite sticky, think I’d be better off using a tinted lip balm! I was very disappointed with it, which is a shame as I like the eyeliner!

BrassOlive · 30/11/2023 13:24

The reviews I've seen are dire.

NinNinJin · 30/11/2023 13:24

😅😅😅 I really hate the feel of Vaseline. So I suppose it is not my must have then

OP posts:
mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 30/11/2023 13:25

I really like it, it doesn't feel like vaseline to me. I wouldn't bother with the natural one, Golden Hour is my favourite.

Mystery2345 · 30/11/2023 13:27

Do not buy it. it is awful , like smearing vaseline on really and has a medicinal smell

LateMumma · 30/11/2023 13:28

Revolution balm by Revolution is meant to be a dupe I think. I've not tried it, but it's a fraction of the price so won't feel terrible if you hate it!

SirVixofVixHall · 30/11/2023 13:30

If you hate Vaseline you will hate it. It is like a stiff, oily balm. I really like it and have lots of the shades, I wear it if I am going to be out in cold or wind as it really protects my cheeks and makes my face more comfortable. Definitely makes me look healthier :- I have fragile, very pale Celtic skin so it can look like tissue paper if it gets dried out.
I think it is easiest on bare, moisturised skin, but I do pat it onto whatever I am wearing eg sunblock or foundation.

slug · 30/11/2023 13:42

I love it but I'm 58 and rarely wear makeup.
