Any ideas why the Dyson Airstrait still hasn't been released in the UK yet?!

I don't get it. It's a British company. It was released in the US, Canada etc at the start of May, yet still no sign of a release date yet. Anyone in the know understand why there's such a delay to rolling it out here?

It's a Singaporean company, no idea why the delay though.

CloudPop · 29/11/2023 12:56

It's not a British company. He pushed for Brexit then legged it to Singapore so he could avoid tax. I'll never buy another one of his products again.

The GHD one is pretty good.

The GHD one is pretty good.

Watched a few videos where it didn't look nearly as good as the airstrait, thanks though.

I thought it was still based partly in the UK, with head office in Singapore. Guess I'm just intrigued why they'd stagger releases so far apart in this day and age. Is it to ensure there's pent up demand when it finally arrives here? I really want one!

Comes out early next year

Mumstaxi100 · 19/01/2024 13:38

got an email to say 29th of January! Can’t wait

MrsZlatan · 01/02/2024 22:40

Has anyone got one yet? I went to the launch at Trafford Centre yesterday and had the demo… and bought one 😅

HangingOnJustAbout · 01/02/2024 23:40

How are you finding it?

Like I need another hair gadget...

Garlicnaan · 02/02/2024 07:14

Watched some videos on Instagram and it looks really impressive. Probably needs a good product with it.

happyshineyperson · 03/02/2024 14:44

Doesn’t seem to be available to buy anywhere online? 😭

Zeldaaa · 03/02/2024 15:21

I received mine on Wednesday and love it! I can see it completely replacing my hair dryer and straighteners (I always wear my hair straight).

NeverDropYourMooncup · 03/02/2024 15:26

Probably planned that way to maximise sales of airwraps/hairdryers before then catching the end of January payday for the people who thought they were replacing their straighteners with a 'does everything' air styler thingummywotsit, only to be told that no, dearest subscribers, you need to bang out another x hundred pounds for this which will also completely replace your straighteners.

ICantGetNoSheep · 03/02/2024 15:41

Where can one purchase it?! Looks incredible

Anjea · 03/02/2024 15:53

How much are they knocking them out for?

RockaLock · 03/02/2024 16:03

It was available last week for people who had signed up.

I have one, and I already love it!

It's £449, and goes on general sale this coming week, possibly on Monday or Tuesday, as I think my "early access" runs out around then.

Midnlghtrain · 03/02/2024 16:20

I've got one too and absolutely love it!! Came this week and OMG it's amazing. It's giving me the shiniest straightest hair that still has volume in - obsessed.

Sarahconnor1 · 03/02/2024 16:29

I had promised myself a lower spend year this year. But I need this in my life.

happyshineyperson · 03/02/2024 16:30

Thank you. I need to get one from John Lewis as I’ve got a significant amount of vouchers from Christmas.

ICantGetNoSheep · 03/02/2024 18:41

Right, I’m sold!! There goes £450 I don’t need to spend…!

ICantGetNoSheep · 03/02/2024 18:47

For those who have one, what was your routine before? Does it save lots of time?

I currently rough dry, then straighten; it doesn’t take lots of time, but any time saving would be a huge bonus!

RockaLock · 03/02/2024 19:27

It dries and straightens at once, so I think it does save me time.

I usually rough dry, then use the air wrap with either the smoothing brush or the round brush, as actual straighteners make my hair too flat. Which works well unless it's very damp outside, then my hair still goes frizzy.

But the air strait leaves it straight (but not too flat) and it seems to stay smoother/less frizzy throughout the day. The real test will be next week when it's forecast to be wet!

Is it worth £450 though? I don't know, ask me in a month or two...

I think dyson let you try it for 30 days, so I guess you can always give it a try and then return it if it's not for you.

It saves me so much time, because I used to rough dry my hair with the airwrap for 10 mins, then need to straighten layer by layer and tbh it would frizz up quite easily. It took me less than 10 mins to do my entire head with the airstaight, it actually still had volume (normally ends up so flat around my head when I used straighteners!) and didn't frizz up all day. Several people complimented it when I was in work which really impressed me too!

I am a Dyson fan girl (disclaimer!) though 😂

ICantGetNoSheep · 04/02/2024 08:15

Ok, thanks both. I’m definitely going to get one x

ICantGetNoSheep · 05/02/2024 20:54

Well £450 lighter than I was this morning …😳
