Fortnum & Mason Advent Calendar 2023 opening thread

I’m hoping you’ll join me to discuss the Fortnum & Mason advent calendar. As is usual shall we wait until 07.00 to discuss that day’s gift?

@narniabusiness I knew there were two AA bath oils (a bonus for me as I love it but won't pay full price), but I thought they were different scents. In fact I've just checked beautyadventcalendar.net and it's advertised as two different smells - one should be Revive, and one should be De-Stress. Did we all get two Revives?

I had F&M in 2021 and I didn't find it very exciting (also had John Lewis that year and it was definitely more fun to open on a daily basis), but come January I want a load of good products that I'll use, and F&M has delivered for me both times

It was Revive on the 2nd and Detress today for me @Possimpible so you shouldn’t have received two the same.

@narniabusiness Hmm I'll maybe email customer services. I don't know what they could really do to rectify it, it's not worth sending anything back etc, but I'll chance my luck

100ml Bramley sleep spray today. Always a divisive product! Personally I like a sleep spray so I'm happy with this

I’m a sleep spray fan too and this one smells gorgeous with the chamomile and yarrow in with the lavender. This one’s gone straight on the bedside table to use this evening.

I was happy with this, I opened it yesterday by mistake. I’ll always use pillow spray. This smells great!

Morning all. So we have Rhug Estate Protecting Day cream with blue tansey oil today. I looked it up and it’s from one of those posh farming estate brands which sell you steaks along with your body care.

Sorry, I'm late with my photo! These are small but each worth about £20 when you look them up, so can't complain. 15ml is small for a cream but the oil is 10ml which will actually probably last a while.

Just watching as will never be able to afford one , I've been several times to the Rhug farm shop and the beauty range is fantastic but expensive. The hand cream is so lovely but £35 !

Happy with these - good quality and exactly what I’d hope to see from F&M, looking forward to using. High quality stuff like this is their strong suit.

Hmm bit of a DoD for me. I'm not sure about consumables in a calendar. Can't decide if I want to use these or not. I hope the calendar doesn't end on a low note as I know I'm expecting one or two more DoDs and we're already at the 21st

@narniabusiness I know! Pricey. I'm sure one of the calendars (John Lewis?) had two CBD products in it and it put me right off. I also don't really struggle with sleep and I'm reluctant to take something that I then might struggle to sleep without. I've never sold on eBay etc before but I'm wondering if I should stick this on (and if it would be allowed?)

I regifted this to my husband as he doesn't always sleep well (and it's his birthday today so bulked up his gift)

I'm not sure I'd get this advent calendar again! It was a gift from my DH and I think I'll steer him a different direction next year.

I’m not that keen on the print if I was going to be picky, but I wanted a silk eye mask and probably would never get round to buying one because I have a crappy airplane one I could use.

Yes and no - sorry to say there is one worse thing to come IMO 😂 I don't find this very exciting to open, but it is one of the things I want to have into next year. I got a really nice silk Space NK x Rixo eye mask in a GWP a while ago but DH nabbed it would you believe (he works shifts), so I'm going to keep this one for myself!

Agree about the print - I assume it's been designed by someone specially though.

Delilah eyebrow pencil today. I don’t have an eyebrow pencil so it will be interesting to try this to see if it’s better than the Mac tinted brow gel that I usually use.

Late with my photos again, I'm on Christmas time! This seems a little light for my brows, I have dark hair and get them tinted, but I'll give it a go
