Forgot to say I have it in black

Possimpible · 15/11/2023 18:59

It's a nice dress, but it's not Christmassy at all. The fabric seems quite light. You could definitely wear it and look fine, but I think you could probably do better.

pizzaHeart · 15/11/2023 18:59

Do you mean black with white spots (couldn’t find better word) or just black ?

lady3009 · 15/11/2023 19:00

Yes, the black one with white spots

Why do you feel the need for others opinions. If you like it then go for it. You will always get some who like and some who do not.

BoredOfBeingTired · 15/11/2023 19:42

Truthfully, it isn't to my taste. It's just a bit sack like and.....bland.
So many beautiful dresses out there but for me this isn't one of them.
Your first comment on it is that 'It's very flattering' is that because you feel it covers everything? Arms, stomach, thighs, bottom? Or do you genuinely feel it makes the best of your shape and attributes?

Seaqueen24 · 15/11/2023 19:43

I think with a pair of heels and some nice jewelery it will look lovely x

Bellabluea · 15/11/2023 19:44

It’s a bit dull for my taste but there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s inoffensive.
if you feel great and confident in something then that is the most important thing.

Epidote · 15/11/2023 19:58

If you like it. I think it's not very festive but that it is up to your taste.
It is the party during the day, is a family party, it depends really.

MaliciaKeys · 15/11/2023 20:27

It's not very festive but with the right accessories it would be okay.

wokbun · 15/11/2023 20:32

I love the black and white one. It's classy. It's elegant. No it doesn't scream christmas tat.

lady3009 · 15/11/2023 20:35

Thanks everyone, it’s not very festive but a lovely dress. I’m pear shaped and it makes my waist look slimmer than it is, the pictures doesn’t do it justice

Sorry was busy with DD.
I think that black and white is not very Christmassy combination but if it looks good on you - go for it. I don’t look good myself in traditional sparkly party clothes so never wear it, plus it’s so difficult to get a flattering dress.
Maybe you can liven it up with more exciting accessories, make up and nails. Last year there was a thread with Christmassy nails - some were really stunning.

Wetblanket78 · 15/11/2023 22:21

If you feel comfortable in it then go for it. I find if I get some Christmasy I don't wear it again. And I would rather get a few wears out of clothes I buy.

likepeddlesonabeach · 16/11/2023 00:39

I really like it and I don't think you need to wear something 'Christmassy' to look good and feel comfortable. The way it's styled on the website makes it look more casual with flat ankle boots, loose hair etc. If you added heels or heeled boots, some jewellery and a pretty hair do (maybe some sort of headband or statement clip it will look dressy.

PyongyangKipperbang · 16/11/2023 02:42

Wear it then!

The thing about "party" outfits, especially the Xmassy ones, is that you really can only wear them at Xmas, NYE or other big parties. They are not clothes that you can repurpose very easily. Great if you are into disposable fashiong or can afford "wear once then donate" but most people want something that will last and be used again.

Far better a dress that makes you look and feel good that you can wear many different ways depending on the accessories. Better for your purse and the environment too.

If you love it that much, I would buy it in all the colours if you can afford it, you will never need to buy a new dress again!

Some people just like a bit of advice. There’s nothing wrong with that, actually.

bravotango · 16/11/2023 08:32

I like it! Gold and green accessories, I think it'll look quite festive.

mondaytosunday · 16/11/2023 08:52

I don't like it and it does seem casual. The blue you could dress up with gold jewelry but not sure about the other one.
Look online at the restaurant.

NutellaNut · 16/11/2023 09:23

It doesn’t look partyish in any way, particularly not the white and black one. Looks more of a summer dress in that colour if anything. If you like it, wear it though.

Blah12345678999 · 16/11/2023 12:36

I think it actually looks quite nice! It’s quite deceptive as doesn’t look special on first glance but I think it’s versatile and could be, tempted to get it myself! Haha

TMMC · 16/11/2023 14:15

Looks great and very wearable. Dress up or down with jewellery and shoes!

lady3009 · 18/11/2023 14:05

This is what it looks like on me, I realise I have no idea how to make selfies!

This dress for a Christmas party
