Please help me find THE winter coat

I've worn the same winter coat from Jigsaw for about ten years and it's falling apart so I'm ready to invest in a new one, and am happy to spend up to £350 for something good quality to last another ten or so years hopefully. But I just can't find the right one!

My wish list is:
Single breasted
Collar (but not funnel neck)
No belt - I've tried a few and they feel bulky and like I'm wearing a dressing gown
Knee or mid-calf length - I'm 5'4 so anything much longer drowns me
Straight or cocoon type shape
High % wool, ideally 100% and bonus points for recycled/sustainable credentials
Nothing too 'military style' with epaulettes etc
Some texture to the fabric i.e. not super smooth and shiny
Natural colour i.e. some shade of blue, green, brown or beige - love teal
Nothing too crazy in terms of the lining, which rules out a lot of e.g. Ted Baker

This comes pretty close to perfection for me but I can't quite justify the price tag: Gerard Darel Samirah Plain Coat, Blue at John Lewis & Partners

This should tick most of the boxes but for some reason I can't get excited about it: Teal Fran Boucle Coat | WHISTLES |

Would love any other ideas!

@Winter42 I've been pondering these for a while, but can't make head or tail of the sizing. Can give me an idea please? Thanks

All the quite long, fitted wool coats from Sezane, Reiss etc are beautiful but they look so smart. I want to be able to take the kids to the park in my main winter coat as well as wear it to the office (where the dress code is pretty casual anyway). So definitely leaning towards the coats that look a bit more casual and roomy for extra layers.

The Gerad Deral coat you linked is the exact coat i’m looking for OP! Sadly my budget is more like £200! If you can afford it I think you should get it! I’ve spent hours looking for the perfect, wool, warm, lined mid length cocoon coat, and the only other one I saw that I liked was £650!

I too think you should go for the Gerard Darel coat if your budget and stretch to it.

None of the linked coats, apart from Sezane perhaps, come anywhere close to it. Anything you buy will be a compromise and you may end up regretting not getting the one you actually want.

Update - I've ordered the Gerard Darel coat to at least try it on :)

It's a gorgeous colour but wondering if it will go with enough in my wardrobe! My ten year old coat is an amazing mohair/wool mix of navy, royal blue, brown and gold - sounds horrendous but somehow seems to go with everything.

Will report back!
