Is Beautypie worth it?

I’ve started a free 30 day trial with beautypie and then there is a one of cost of £59.00 to pay for the year to access member prices? I just wondered if it’s any good? I’m not sure I’ll know within 30 days any difference to my skin? Thanks :-)

There have been numerous Beauty Pie threads asking your question. You could just search those?

I'm very hmmm about Beauty Pie and lots of beauty writers are beginning to question the prices.
It's an odd set up. You pay a sub, so you're then told that the product you can now buy for £30 would have cost you £70 without the sub. But how do you know the true value of the product? It's all BP own brand, so you don't. It's a closed market. You don't find their products elsewhere so they can tell you what they want about pricing and you're none the wiser.
They've definitely done some marketing on here (as have many other companies)
I'd search for reviews on their products rather than dive in. Lots of people rave about the One Powder Wonder as an "uberlucent" setting powder but that's the only thing I've heard lots of rave reviews about.

Which you could say about any argument on MN.

There's always one

I really like some of their products, particularly the waterproof mascara, one powder wonder, fake tan mist with brush, youth bomb serum and clear make up bags (which are just like Space NK but half the price). I'm just using the Shinkai electrolyte drench which is surprisingly good, as it feels very light. I'm going to try the youth bomb body products next and the cream blush in Astro Pink.

I've also signed up for the 30day free trial and have bought 3 items. One recommended by Sali Hughes - which I love and some Beauty Pie products which I should get in a few days. My free trial finishes in about 2 weeks but I'm not sure if I will go ahead with the actual subscription but I'm still thinking about it.

wizzbitt · 24/08/2023 15:06

This is what I bought. It's really helped with perimenopause breakouts. I've used it for about 10days now

SquashPenguin · 24/08/2023 15:09

No. Not worth it. Has a couple of nice things but no way is it worth a subscription and there’s no way of telling how much the products are supposedly worth other than what they tell you. I wasn’t overly impressed with it all and cancelled.

Mercurial123 · 24/08/2023 15:18

To be fair, this question does get asked on a regular basis.

I've cancelled my subscription. The suggested retail prices are insane. Quality is OK, but I don't buy enough to justify a £59 annual membership fee.

You can get quality mid priced or cheap skin care without the member fee. I love Elf cleansing balm, and The Ordinary Phytoceramides moisturiser is excellent. I won't miss BP.

Passerillage · 24/08/2023 15:20

I’ve bought loads. It helped me revamp my attitude to skincare in a big way. I buy all my makeup and skincare from it.

I probably don’t use it as much any more except for stocking up.

I'm using the Shinkai Electrolyte drench too and really rate it. I'm also beyond impressed with the Uber Youth Neck and Chest Super Lift Serum Spray. My turkey neck is definitely starting to look way better than it did a few weeks ago.

Their use of "influencers" is pretty annoying too.

GreenOli · 24/08/2023 16:09

No, I don't think it is. They have some good products, but most of the ones I tried either didn't work for me, caused a reaction, or smelled too strong. I'd rather pick and choose from different brands than feel I have to use loads of BP products. Their nail products are brilliant though - with the base coat and top coat my nail polish basically never chips.

ohcrums · 24/08/2023 17:13

Not any more

Summer23 · 24/08/2023 21:54

Most of the products I use are Beauty Pie.
Love a BP delivery!!

EffortlessDesmond · 24/08/2023 22:18

Well, now you've got some other opinions, I can tell you that I am a fan and have been a subscriber for several years. I'm old. But my skin is good and comfortable, and I rarely bother going to the High Street other than for the odd blusher. Most of my skincare is BeautyPie, and it's mostly made in Japan or Switzerland, neither of which is exactly famous for lack of regulation.

DrMarshaFieldstone · 24/08/2023 22:29

Yes, I think it is. Pretty much all of my skincare comes from them. I’ve just tried their new violet blonde shampoo and it’s astonishingly good, much better than my usual L’Oréal professionel one.

BrioLover · 25/08/2023 09:50

I think it is too. My skin has improved since using their retinol and vitamin C products, and the cleansers are excellent. The foundation, tinted moisturiser, mascaras, cream eye sticks, illuminating powder etc. are great. I haven't got on with the hair care but my sister swears by the hair oil. I stopped the membership for about 6 months when I ran out of stuff because I wasn't convinced it was worth it and have gone back because I just couldn't find anything that had the same effect/feel as the BP products.

Purpleavocado · 25/08/2023 12:00

No for me, some of the products are nice but it encourages me to spend more than I would normally volume wise to get to postage levels.

littleteapot86 · 25/08/2023 12:06

I had a BP subscription last year and start of this year and didn't renew it. I think it would be good for someone who is looking to get into skincare for the first time. For me, I've always liked fancy skincare (thanks, Mum haha) but I rarely strayed from Liz Earle, Elemis and Decleor and due to finances I would only really buy cleanser, toner and moisturiser so I went with BP to allow me to afford other stuff too (like masks, eye creams, serums etc).

Anyway I honestly didn't find the products to be that great. They didn't cause any bad reactions or make my skin worse but nothing stood out for me. I found the face powder that everyone talks about to be totally average. I am also wary of how much they seem to use influencers.

woodhill · 25/08/2023 12:09

I'm sure it would be very good but I think I would end up buying stuff I didn't really need

FinnRustle · 25/08/2023 12:21

I have been tempted on and off, but never taken the plunge - the prices are pretty much the same now as the mid-range lines at Space NK, and there's £59 to pay on top. M&S has been peddling the 'rumours are that it's made in the same Swiss lab as Famous Brands That Cost a Lot More' line for the Formula skincare for ages, and it's a fraction of these prices.

Maybe I'm a cynical cheapskate or maybe I've been round the block a few too many times but surely a cream can only do so much, regardless of the price tag. It's mainly just moisture and sun block, isn't it? If you want more than that, you need chemicals and a discreet cosmetic surgeon, not a £44 peptide cream that self-identifies as a £175 one.

JMAngel1 · 25/08/2023 12:23

The chest and neck spray is AMAZING - everything else - meh.
Although I am eyeing up the youthbomb body cream and that Drench serum.

woodhill · 25/08/2023 12:24

Yes I used to do those beauty box things monthly but found I ended up,with too many products I didn't really want or need

Beauty Pie isn’t a beauty box subscription.
