Did we ever work out where those little holes come from?

The small ones in the front of t-shirts around belly button height.

Another t-shirt mysteriously developed them today. It’s only a month or so old.

Drives me mad!

Zips?

THATissoooFETCH · 13/08/2023 23:03

Jeans

SwedishEdith · 13/08/2023 23:03

Seat belts and zip agitation.

EbiRaisukaree · 13/08/2023 23:04

Zips and belt buckles are my culprits - particularly if you then rub them against the front of your desk due to middle aged spread around the middle 😁

WellPlaced · 13/08/2023 23:12

No belt
Could be zip or seatbelt though

I wondered if it was bathroom cleaning spray, the bleachy one I use sometimes.

Vanillazebra · 13/08/2023 23:14

Put a pair of tights or stockings on your hand and run your hand over the silver barrel of your washing machine. Often the holes aren’t punched through properly and can put holes in clothes

Peppermintlover · 13/08/2023 23:14

Bra hooks? I know we are meant to hand wash them but I don’t l!

blueshoes · 13/08/2023 23:14

Never seen them

PriamFarrl · 13/08/2023 23:15

I’m sure it’s belts. The only top I have ever had this on is the top I wear for gardening. This the the only time I also wear a belt.

But the holes are always waist height. If it was bra hooks they’d be all over.

THATissoooFETCH · 13/08/2023 23:16

Its not belts
I dont even own a belt

DyslexicPoster · 13/08/2023 23:16

I think it's belts and leaning against worktops or the sink. I never get them now I stopped wearing belts

Yes, I was thinking the same about washing up liquid

Think my work badge in a lanyard does mine

Ah! That makes sense. Since living house and using the machine machine that was left by previous owners, all my clothes have developed holes in them.

LadyHag · 13/08/2023 23:21

The little holes are from Jane Prentiss....

VanWeezer · 13/08/2023 23:21

It's the button on your jeans. Google holé. It's a button cover and it stops the little holes.

CobraChicken · 13/08/2023 23:23

Mine are mostly from my soppy cat kneeding my fat belly when he's sat on my lap. I stop him as soon as he starts, but that's already too late because he's done one "snag" with his claws at that point.

LaDeeDa123 · 13/08/2023 23:23

It’s from jeans. I got them after wearing a Toast t-shirt 4 times 🤬

I think it's bra hooks. I get holes all over my clothes - not just waist area.

LaviniasBigBloomers · 13/08/2023 23:37

Jean buttons, belts and rubbing against worktops. I started getting them all the time after we put in hard stone worktops and i put on a ton of weight.

katscamel · 14/08/2023 00:43

Bra hooks if they are left unfastened in machine.

It’s not cleaning stuff. I only clean in old tops and my nice new ones have the dreaded holes in. I think it must be jeans buttons/belts. I don’t know if it happens more now because fabric is so much thinner but I don’t remember this happening all the time 10 years ago.

bizzey · 14/08/2023 00:52

Flip ...I never knew I should close up my bra before chucking it in the machine!!

Yeah...I did hear a myth about hand washing them only ..
Sod that !

Plates are lucky to get a hand wash in this house let alone anything else 🤣🤣!
