Am I too old for this dress?

I've bought this dress and I think I might be too old for it. In my head I still think I'm in my twenties 😂but I'm not. I'm in my very late 50s. Should I send it back?

Nobody is too old for anything, if you like it keep it and wear it 😊

tingtangwallawallabingbangg · 28/07/2023 21:35

Keep it - it's lovely 😊

Bigpaintinglittlepainting · 28/07/2023 21:36

I think it could be for any age!

BeverlyBrook · 28/07/2023 21:36

How could you possibly be too old for it?
Wear it!

CatherinedeBourgh · 28/07/2023 21:36

You're not too old for it - that model is too young for it!

Mrsjayy · 28/07/2023 21:36

Oh I think its lovely and of course you can wear it.

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/07/2023 21:38

Not at all.
It's classy and perfect for any age.

SallyWD · 28/07/2023 21:39

It's lovely! I'm sure some in their 50s (or older or younger) would look lovely in it.

Oldwobblechops77 · 28/07/2023 21:39

I’m in my late fifties and I wouldn’t go for it, simple bc I am fat and wobbly with large norks which I think this dress would emphasise. But I think if you have the figure, you should go for it op!

Justcallmebebes · 28/07/2023 21:39

Absolutely not! It's a gorgeous dress and you're certainly not too old for it. I'm late fifties too

Oldwobblechops77 · 28/07/2023 21:39

There’s something a bit vintage about it!

yodaandmedication · 28/07/2023 21:41

if you look at the other colours there are older models wearing it too - perfect for any age

TizerorFizz · 28/07/2023 21:47

It’s styled with a vintage look about it. Kath Kidson type fabric. It’s a relatively straightforward wrap dress in a vintage style fabric. Would suit anyone slim (ish!) .

Do you really believe this? I do t think I have ever looked at another woman and thought ooh she's too fat for that dress/shirt/whatever....

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2023 21:50

Of course not. It does seem very expensive for quite an ordinary looking day dress though.

Riverlee · 28/07/2023 21:52

That dress is fine. I’m a similar age and would wear it.

why do you think you are too old?

Wallabyone · 28/07/2023 21:56

It's lovely-of course you're not too old!

DisforDarkChocolate · 28/07/2023 21:59

It's lovely but seems overpriced to me. The Seamstress of Bloomsbury do similar styles for less.

However, if you love it, keep it!

It fits very close to the body and is rather low cut although I can pin it so my bra isn't on show! Thanks for the reassurance though everyone.

Of course you’re not too old. It’ll look good on any age - If you’ve got it flaunt it !

Dombasle · 28/07/2023 22:44

Suitability is more to do with size and figure than age.

I would wear that and I'm old.

The model is not too young for it. That's as silly as the OP thinking she's too old to wear it.

I'm puzzled why anyone could think they were too old for that dress or that there's a cut off age for that dress. It's a pretty, just below knee length day dress, as another poster said it's got an air of Cath Kidston to it, also a bit Edina Ronay. Or Tenko.

Agreed it's pricey for what it is.

I don't think it's about size so much as what's flattering for certain body shapes? I can't (well, I choose not to) wear certain styles because they simply don't suit my figure!

Annaishere · 29/07/2023 03:05

No I don’t think so
