What do we think of this dress? Size 18

Thoughts on this dress from Albaray? I'm 5'3 and a size 18. It's cotton and the skirt is lined.

It's to wear to a kids birthday party that my very Conservative in-laws will be at. So it needs to be quite covered up. I can tie the neck shut so it ends up being high neck (and wear it open for other occasions).

I must also say that your conservative family of course shouldn't impact on how you wear your clothes, i.e. if it's not a part of your own vales and ethics why change how you wear a thing?

Really lovely! If anything I’d have maybe tried a 16 too, as it looks a little bit on the big side on the top, but that’s also the style - I really like it

Looks good, OP, but I can’t believe you’re altering what you would wear to suit your ILs’ notion of appropriate female dress (or indeed that anyone, however conservative, would have an issue with that neckline as it is! I have fairly conservative-dressing Muslim colleagues who wouldn’t bat an eyelid at that.)

I could probably wear it as is and not tighten the neckline, but at the kids party I'll be bending over and picking kids up and I'm very generous of cup so I'll be flashing everyone.

I know what some people are saying about the values and dress. I was stressing a buy about what yo wear but bow I've found a dress I don't mind, ha!

Overall though I don't mind dressing a bit more conservatively with them. They help out an enormous amount with childcare for our baby, if we didn't have that then we'd have to make many more sacrifices.

And, for them at least, that traditional childcare element is probably also informed by their conservative values. So I'd feel bad for taking and not giving, if you see what I mean. I stop short at covering my hair though. That's where my line is and they've never asked so it's fine.
