What do you think about adult women with BUNCHES?

What would you think if you rang someone's doorbell and they answered the door with bunches?

What about a mum on the school run with bunches?

What about popping to the postbox?

What about in the shopping mall?

i think its groove

Fimbo · 25/02/2008 12:22

It's one of those things, where some people can and some people can't.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/02/2008 12:22

it depends on what you mean by bunches. i put my hair in loose bunches or plaits quite a lot!

Twinkie1 · 25/02/2008 12:22

Er no - maybe at the gym at a push but otherwise I would expect her to be in her school uniform with her DH waiting expectantly at the top of the stairs!

It's so worng as is coloured hair clips and toggles on anyone over 16 IMO! - does that make me old fashioned?

bundle · 25/02/2008 12:22

I've had my hair in bunches (tis now cropped v short tho!) and did feel a bit of a Last Chance Trendy

(ditto those wearing Hello Kitty hairslides which they bought for their children..)

actually I think bunches are fine.

maybe not for job interview

unless it was as playworker

Fimbo · 25/02/2008 12:22

I would look stoopid. But I know someone else who would look quite cool.

NomDePlume · 25/02/2008 12:23

I'm with Twinkie on this one

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/02/2008 12:23

40 something women with bunches usually have cartoon character dangly earrings and a tooth-itchingly irritating 'hellooo' fun and expansive mannner about them (possible hiding a monster gin habit) that makes me want to run away in shrieking horror.

Not jugdmental, me

MamaG · 25/02/2008 12:23

mmmmmmm no

OracleInaCoracle · 25/02/2008 12:23

agree fimbo. although high up "little house on the prairie" bunches, don not suit anyone over the age of 10!

mmm if high on the head bunches or the pineapple look then no ( apart from the gym possibly)

mazzystar · 25/02/2008 12:24

a mate of mine does this occasionally and due to her flawless skin anbone structure carries it off in a trendy kinda way. but her hair is quite short and the bunches are sholow behind the ear jobs.

donbean · 25/02/2008 12:24

ooh that bird oncbeebies with the fucking annoying voice, sarah dimwit or some thing or other..ohhh i could punch her balck n blue with her bunches in, swing her round Trunchbull style.

annoying bint.

RTKangaDYSONMummy · 25/02/2008 12:25

I have got bunches at the moment cos I am tired of it in a ponytail or loose

BUT I am not going anywhere else today

I wondered whether if someone outside the family saw me what they would think

So therefore you wouldn't be horrified if you saw my bunches if one of the above situations happened and I had forgotten I had them in IYSWIM

Depends - at the gym or beach on holiday then yes (I plaited my hair into twin plaits one Hogamony to stop it from going everywhere as I partied - or intended to - twas cancelled!! in the street). or swimming is another good time.

I wouldn't go to work or down the supermarket like it.

bundle · 25/02/2008 12:28

there are worse things than bunches: such as Hair That Doesn't Move..

bookwormmum · 25/02/2008 12:31

or unwashed hair

OracleInaCoracle · 25/02/2008 12:34

not for work, natch but for going to the pub, shopping etc. it depends on the person and what youre wearing tbh. pretty dress and pigtails screams "i suck my thumb and still call my mum mummy"

baggy jeans and funky tshirt with pigtails says "im laidback"

or so i like to think.. (spot the 30yo in pigtails)

pedilia · 25/02/2008 12:51

Really depends on whether they can carry it off or not, a bit like should anyone over the age of 25 wear a mini-skirt.

I sometimes have bunches ( more like little knots on either side) I wouldn't wear high bunches though

talkingmongoose · 25/02/2008 13:02

I wear them occasionally at the beach, or when camping, stuff like that. Any situation when you could have bare feet, then I can carry them off with a sort of hippy-vibe thing. Possibly.

Birdly · 25/02/2008 13:03

I wear low bunches for yoga, as I can't stand my hair flapping in my face and can't lie flat on my back with my hair in a ponytail.

I'm getting on a bit(ish) but I do quite like it!

Janni · 25/02/2008 13:04

You've got to be stunningly beautiful to look good in bunches when you're way past girlhood..

misdee · 25/02/2008 13:07

i put mine in bunches when i am running as its just a little bit too short to tie up in one ponytail, and it flies all over my face otherwise.

or of i just nipping out and i am doing my hair when it get back.
