What do you think about adult women with BUNCHES?

RTKangaDYSONMummy · 25/02/2008 12:20

What would you think if you rang someone's doorbell and they answered the door with bunches?

What about a mum on the school run with bunches?

What about popping to the postbox?

What about in the shopping mall?

sometimes wear two plaits when hiking - for some reason two plaits contains my rather long and wayward hair more effectively.

No. It smacks of grown up women playing at being ickle little girls. Ducks and hides from those who have bunches.... then realises that low ones like pedilia are talking about are probably just about ok

Actually labour is an honourable exception. I think you could wear what you wanted during labour even if that was a ra ra skirt, polo neck jumper and high bunches with checked ribbons and you'd still be forgiven.

no no no no no

RTKangaDYSONMummy · 25/02/2008 13:43

Oke doke

Thanks for your views

The thing is that after I have had them in for several hours I forget they are there and if there wasn't a mirror by the door I am sure one day I will go out with them in IYSWIM

I think they look cute if your hair's not too long and you're not too ancient looking.
Linda Lusardi, for example, had them in the skating thing last night. She looked beyond ridiculous..

Carmenere · 25/02/2008 13:47

I wear plaits for the rare occasion when I do martial arts as I can roll effectively with a ponytail. They look ok on me but I am aware as I hurtle towards 40 that it is a little mutton dressed as lamb as my dm used to say.

daydreambeliever · 25/02/2008 13:49

They can look ok on skinny girls whi have a way of dressing like little girls, who just happen to be over grown, I mean in that 'see my scrawny little hip bones jutting out of my baggy fat face trousers and flat chest under little t-shirt' type look, a camping, festival beach so casual and scruffy thing, yes, worn low and short.

I would look like a freak in them

PotPourri · 25/02/2008 13:50

Erm no. Some people can get away with it - if they are beautiful, young looking, slim adn really trendy. otherwise I do think it looks like mutton dressed as lamb. I must admit that really long hair on people over 55 or so gives me the same feeling.

filthymindedvixen · 25/02/2008 13:53

I wear plaits for very very windy, rainy days when I have a hat on, as my hair gets too much in the way when the weather is bad. I know I look ridiciolous but I'd look a whole lot more ridiculous with long, wet hair being blown constantly over my face or up in the air...

no no no

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2008 14:01

yeah kanga, rember to take them out
classic error, i often make, when tidying is to put all DD's hairclips in my hair and then forget to take then out when someone rings the doorbell

filthymindedvixen · 25/02/2008 14:04

lol, I have been known to (unwittingly) go up to shop with ds's (clean) underpants used to te hair back in a bun..

RosaIsRed · 25/02/2008 14:06

Has anyone said Linda Lusardi yet? Because IMO that was the REAL reason she got kicked off Dancing on Ice last night. That and the gopping outfit.

hifi · 25/02/2008 14:19

over 20 yrs no, then hyou start to look like a 1661.

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2008 14:22

fmv, could you see they were pants?

princessosyth · 25/02/2008 14:23

I don't think you can get away with it past age 25 and even then you have got to have a bit of a baby face. When I have seen older women with bunches it actually makes them appear older iyswim? You know when you see them someone from behind or afar and expect them to be about 19 and then when they get close you are shocked and not in a good way!

cardy · 25/02/2008 14:24

Some people can, some can't, it depends if it goes with the rest of your style.

I am growing my hait at the mo and can't wait until I can do two loose plaits.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/02/2008 14:27

So long as they are loose at the nape of your neck and not horrifically bunched up almost towards your crown and accessorised with 34 pink glittery clips.

cardy · 25/02/2008 14:35

hair sorry.......

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/02/2008 17:45

Rosa - I did think that too !
