Are anti chaffing sticks the same as deodorant?

Getting ready for holiday and I've forgotten to lose the 3 stone I had planned to! 🤣
I don't want to wear chub rub shorts as I think it'll be too hot so have been looking on Amazon at chub rub sticks. They look like deodorant sticks and wondering if anyone has just used deodorant and would that work or do they have any recommendations for a proper chub rub stick that works?

I use the mitchum stick deodorant and it works brilliantly!

I've not tried deodorant, didn't want to risk it and it not work, but the Bodyglide stick is my go to and never fails. It will last all day and is sweat proof.

Yep I also use Mitchum stick and it's great.

Lanacane do an anti chaffing gel- available from Boots - absolute life saver

They are not the same if they are good.

Look up the brand Megababe Thigh Rescue. It's the best. Cult Beauty has it.

I used mitchum stick on holiday this year and it worked very well

They are not the same but can work as well!

Anti Perspirant sticks like mitchum work by stopping you getting damp of thigh, so in theory they don't stick together and chafe.

Anti Chafing sticks like Body Glide/Thigh Rescue are a lubricant - yes your thighs will still get sweaty but they'll just glide along and not chafe. Body Glide doesn't seem to sweat off.

I get on better with Body Glide than anti-perspirant, but I'd try it out before your holiday.

I think any roll on deodorant would work. I use Mitchum day-to-day anyway and it works well for me.

I tried antiperspirant last week after reading about it here, was ok but I wouldn't trust it over bodyglide on a hot day. Someone on another thread said they didn't get on with lanacaine (sp) and others were recommending antiperspirant or bodyglide.

Found it Lanacane - thighs still sore http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/lanacane-thighs-still-sore
