Lanacane - thighs still sore

Failingatthemoment · 26/06/2023 15:24

Got some lanacane ante chafe cream. Have used it for three days now and it doesn't work! I'm only using a ( 1cm) amount - it seems to go on done but doesn't even last 1 hour!

I found one called Runner's Lube (made by Muller I think, something like that) that was more durable than the Lancane one - slightly drier so didn't rub off as easily or sweat off. It was more like a Chapstick in feel and packaging (but much bigger). Possibly similer to things like the anti-blister sticks. I had to order it from somewhere that took a while, but was worth it.

Now I just wear the shorts/snag shorts/long pants etc instead.

AmbleInAnnBoleyn · 26/06/2023 16:10

Snap, yeah, gave up on using products on the skin, just wear long leg pants nowadays. The pain of chafed thighs now a thing of the past.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 26/06/2023 16:11

Use chamois cream, you can buy it at any good bike shop.

I've been chaffe free since 2016 now.

Deathraystare · 26/06/2023 16:20

Christ! That takes me back when I used to walk to work! If I had to do a long walk I guess I would wear those bicycle shorts. I have some at home.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/06/2023 16:22

A cm isn't enough, you need a good squirt of it!

monicagellerbing · 26/06/2023 16:24

Get some chub rub shorts your life will be forever improved! I have the ones from Snag and there are amazing

monicagellerbing · 26/06/2023 16:24

They*

Failingatthemoment · 26/06/2023 16:26

Don't the shorts make you hotter ( and sweatier!) Though, especially in this heat.

No creams have ever worked for me. I wear chub rub shorts from Snag these days, but used to wear cycling shorts.

monicagellerbing · 26/06/2023 16:29

The snag ones are made from breathable material and haven't made me any hotter

randomsabreuse · 26/06/2023 16:31

Shorts are the only answer for me. Possibly slightly hotter but better than the pain/bleeding.

JennyTheDonkey · 26/06/2023 16:56

Body glide, Amazon sell it. I couldn't be doing with the extra heat from wearing a pair of shorts and those bands shift around. I took a punt on the body glide and have not had to worry about it for years, so freeing!

Gold bond anti friction is good, really helps me and if wearing shorts I go for snag as they are more like thin tights so not too hot

YouAndMeAndThem · 26/06/2023 21:23

Asda little angels liquid talc is honestly amazing for chub rub!

rainingoutsideagain · 26/06/2023 22:02

Gold Bond Friction Defense Stick Unscented 1.75 Ounce amzn.eu/d/fPnYApi

Best stuff ever

HamSandwichKiller · 26/06/2023 22:10

That gold bond stuff was okay for me last summer but I needed shorts to feel comfortable tbh. Annoying in this heat though.

Thereshegoesagain · 27/06/2023 07:08

Roll on deodorant has never let me down.

Mutabiliss · 27/06/2023 07:11

Never worked for me either, get the shorts. It's probably a bit hotter, but unless you're in the habit of lifting your dress up to waft while at work, it will feel more pleasant because your skin isn't sticking together.

I like the Big Bloomers ones best but loads of companies do them now, try a few.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 27/06/2023 07:45

Sainsbury's sell long leg pants, 2-pack for £10. Game changer.

GettingStuffed · 27/06/2023 08:06

I find making sure my thighs are well moisturised works well

MrsCharlieD · 27/06/2023 09:50

I use a stick deodorant and it works like a charm, usually a dove one. Not a roll on, the stick ones.
