Bridesmaid dress colors?

Wedding51123 · 08/07/2023 14:29

Hi all! Getting married November 5th and everything is organized and ready to go - except the bridesmaid dresses. I have the style picked out but can’t decide on a color. My lovely bridesmaids are happy to go with whatever I choose, but everything I see just seems meh

The first three photos are 1) husband’s suit, 2) my dress (95% match - I don’t have any kind of flower crown) and 3) venue decor. All flowers are white, and main decor is cream/gold. I’ve attached some colors I like but am open to suggestions!!!

What dress color would you pick based off them?

How many bridesmaids do you have?
Burgundy is lovely for a winter wedding!

Wedding51123 · 08/07/2023 14:35

3 (my two sisters and his sister. All similar shapes/skin tones)

Sage green, rose gold, champagne pink, baby blue.

Since it’s winter you can also opt for deeper jewel tones.

I can see a royal purple / aubergine working really nicely with the decore.

This is a gorgeous colour. Very festive and autumnal.

That’s beautiful to have all the sisters ❤️ Is one a maid of honour at all? I was thinking emerald and burgundy are so stunning together especially for a winter wedding. If so, you could have MOH in one colour and your two other bridesmaids in another? If not, have you got flower girl/s or page boy/boys? You could always have them in one of the colours and your BMs in the other?

Mustard-y?

I’ve kinda made them all my MOH/bridesmaids, so they’re all of equal importance which is true anyway.

I do have a flower girl and page boy. Page boy is wearing a miniature version of my husband’s suit and the groomsmen are the same (although obviously not miniature haha!). I was thinking of putting my flower girl in a white dress with a bow that matches the bridesmaid dress color around the middle.

I like the idea of a dual tone, but I like matchy matchy more 😂😂😂

Is your groom wearing a black tie?

What colour tones suit them? I would look dreadful in that mustard and those pastels but suit the burgundy.

Prescottdanni123 · 08/07/2023 14:48

For a late autumn wedding, I'd he tempted to go with autumn colours - dark red, burnt orange, plum etc. Flower girl maybe in a white dress with a sash to match the bridesmaid's colours.

Prescottdanni123 · 08/07/2023 14:50

Also, bridemaids don't always have to wear the same colour. You could always have one in mustard, one in red, one in a different colour etc.

Pollydollydoodle · 08/07/2023 14:54

My bridesmaids wore black, controversial I know but they looked absolutely stunning with pale pink flowers 🌸

That’s lovely! Love the idea of your FG in white with a bow to match the bridesmaids! PB could always have a tie or bow tie matching in with them aswell? So colour-wise for the time of year I would say burgundy, emerald or burnt orange! They are the colours I’ll be looking at when me and DP get round to planning as we’ll be looking around a similar time of year to you x

simonthedog · 08/07/2023 14:58

I would go dark green

M0rT · 08/07/2023 15:04

I would bring whichever one of them is free to go to an appointment with you (as you say similar colouring) and try on all the colour options in the style you have chosen.
You can take photos and then look at them at home, maybe show them all your favourites and pick which suits their colouring the best.
White and gold decor will go with almost anything so you are not restricted.

Maddy70 · 08/07/2023 15:26

A dark gold would be lovely

Brumbies · 08/07/2023 15:47

How many bridesmaids? How about having them in different pastel shades? Pinks, blues, lemon, green etc

I think this ^^ is important.
Mustard yellow, sage green, cream, gold, rust are awful colours on jewel winters, for example.

motherstongue · 08/07/2023 16:15

I’d go with copper. It’s rich and autumnal. It compliments the decor and the wedding dress. Groom can have a copper tie

EasyLifer · 08/07/2023 16:22

I love the colours of the 2 pastel dresses but I think they are more spring/summer wedding than autumn. The burgundy would be lovely, or as pp have suggested a gold/coppery/rust colour.

This is a really good idea. It's all very well waxing lyrical about autumn colours, but they don't suit everyone.
