What shoes with this dress?

On the website it's styled with boots, which aren't really right for the dinner. My first thought was black strappy sandals with a not too high heel, but that feels a bit boring. Is there anything more interesting that would work with the dress?

If it makes any difference I'm mid 40s with big (size 8) feet. The dinner is at a conference in a fairly male dominated industry.

That green would look fab with gold but I suggest adding a gold bangle or necklace so the outfit works well together

Have you tried your gold block heels? They seem the best option plus your gold earrings.

That really isn't a dress for gold block heels. It's a super smart day dress which will look fine in a dressy restaurant, if need be, in the evening, but it is not an evening dress.

If these are your colleagues then I'd opt for day-to-evening professional with a funky ankle boot or shoe, rather than full-on evening sexy. Depending on which male-dominated industry, and your role in it, and unless full glamour has been requested.

(I'm thinking of my emerald green Vogs, although they have silver buttons.)

Well personally I think it depends on the weather...Indian summer and you could wear a sandal, but rain and it's probably toes covered.

Dark green or black suede heeled pump. As above. LK Bennett usually have good ones. Boots? Only black suede heeled ones. Clunky? Just no. The boots styled with the dress do not look great.

try some shoes you already own is my tip, and go from there. But more important, I also don’t know what wi têtu is.

As I say the dinner is at the end of a conference, so in a hotel and full of academics and professionals in the industry. It's not black tie. I'm pretty sure I've pitched the dress right for the occasion so am not worried about that.

I think your choice of dress plus gold block heels plus gold earrings seems great for a dinner at a professional conference.

Not those gold shoes! They look clunky and awful. It’s a professional dinner. Why would gold shoes be appropriate as it’s not black tie? Do you want to get noticed? Black or green suede heeled pumps. Earrings great. Understated elegance is whet you want. The dress is: so carry on like that.

Agreed TizerorFizz. The fact the dress has gold buttons and the OP will be wearing gold earrings still doesn't make gold shoes right for that dress.

Suggest OP at least try the outfit with the shoes they have see what it looks like on - OP doesn’t generally wear heels, why buy new shoes with a spindly heel that will be uncomfortable for OP and after the dinner, sit in the wardrobe?

The shoes may be more elegant, but I have nerve damage in one foot following an injury and can't comfortably balance in shoes like that any more. Ending the conference by falling over in front of everyone wouldn't be particularly elegant!

Open toe shoes with a dark green dress? Hmm. No tights then. Odd look in my view. Just look for a lower heel pump .

Are these too high? I have these in multiple colours as they are comfy for heels, have a good sturdy block heel so you feel safe in them but they are just a good plain classic shoe.
