Bought some for a heel issue as read it can help.

Do they take a while to get used to?

I know they will end up being mega comfy.....eventually

I have had Arizonas for the last 35 years. I'm on my third pair. I love them. My newest pair isn't as nice as the old ones. I think I'm going to replace them with the original nubuck as I was wooed by a pattern pair.

Hated mine. Sold them and bought Next own types.

They're 5 years old now and still look new.

I'm 3 months in and my milanos are still giving me blisters 🤷‍♀️

My Birkenstocks, Arizona and Madrid, have always been comfortable from the first day and I've never had to wear them in. I've never had blisters either. They fit the shape of my feet perfectly.

I've seen people wearing sizes that are too small with their toes touching the raised rim. Mainly in fake ones to be fair but it makes me wince because surely that's doing more harm than good with the rubbing it's going to cause

Or their heels sticking over the rim at the back a bit which again is going to rub

I bought a really cheap pair of fake Gizeh from Lidl to wear in the garden and to take the bins out they were £6.99.

They're really heavy soled and clunky and nothing like the real thing and definitely need wearing in, but I don't like them enough to wear in. This is what I think Birkenstocks must feel like to those that can't get on with them. They just feel uncomfortable and wrong and I don't have the inclination to wear them in.

I have arizonas and found the top strap cuts into my the arch of my left foot regardless of how tight or loose I wear them.

I wore them around the house and used Vaseline to soften but gave up after a few tries.

I have a pair but can only wander round thr house in them, they're too flat and make my calves ache. Same with converse and any really flat soled shoe.

They do really help with my plantar fasciitis though
